I work for Crossmark. I advise anyone who is looking for work to not work there. They claim they are exempt from the blue laws and refuse to pay time and a half on Sundays. As to training, I received none. The online videos do not prepare you for what they expect of you. I was told I would be mentored. The mentor spent time walking around the store socializing with others, not really checking on any of the new hires. I was thrown out on the floor without preparation. The schedule states I am to cook pork - I do not know how to cook pork (or other meat) as a demo and was not shown how to do this. I said at my interviews that I was not an experienced cook, but would be most comfortable with products that did not require cooking or that I could put in a microwave. I was told that was fine. The supervisor is not approachable, she has a sarcastic manner - most associates say to avoid her an do your job. The scheduling is online, and they do not give you a report time. So, you show up at 10:30 which is when the badge says is the time to report only to be told you are early or late - if you are early, you are yelled at for putting paper towels on your cart. (complete with swearing, which is inappropriate in a work setting in my opinion). It is 11.25 an hour to start, but not worth it for what you are put through. I am looking for a new job, and I know I will find one. I have taken to leaving my uniform in a locker each time, that way if I decide to not report, I don't have to drive to that store and face the wrath of the supervisor and the supposed trainers. Another thing is that you will only be paid for 6 hours of work, yet you are put on the floor longer than that without being allowed to put the extra time on your time sheet, which you must file on your own time from your own computer. No one shows you how to do paperwork, you must "muddle through" at home. This is not a pleasant work environment and I pray I get a new job soon. I would rather work for minimum wage where I am appreciated than at this place, where I am treated poorly. Again, please, do not work for Crossmark.

Not Every Supervisor Is The Same

I have worked for nearly a year for Crossmark in both the Samsung and Glidden diuvisions. The training that I received in both has been exemplary. You simply got a bad supervisor. Wile I was with the Samsung division, I worked with my supervisor hand to hand three times. He was vrry thorough and taught me a great deal. When I switched to the Gliddden division, the supervisor was very thorough as well and trained me for three days and is available for mentoring should I need it. Of course, they're both male, but you can find good female supervisors as well. You just got one that is a complete b**** and thinks only of herself. SWITCH now.

There is no training to speak of at all.  I was taken around by another employee at 4 stores and shown a few things.  In all total, I got 3 hours training.  After working there for 3 months I so, I got wrote up for something I missed when doing an assignment.  I told them I wasn't trained properly.  Instead of verification, they called my trainer who was seeking a promotion.  Of course he said he trained me properly.  I was written up, needless to say not too long after that I left the company.  It was too stressful and full of liars trying to cover thier own butts all the time.
