My husband and I visited Nuevo Vallarta last summer in hopes of purchasing a new property, as we had both recently retired. We checked out a handful of places before landing at (((REDACTED))). Prior research suggested this development struggled with legal problems and poor administration, so we were hesitant upon arrival. Though we found the units to be reasonably priced, the development as a whole was ran down and suffered from maintenance issues, so we quickly decided to leave.

As we were exiting, we were approached by (((REDACTED)))  who introduced himself as the owner of the development and he addressed us to (((REDACTED))) of (((REDACTED))) in Puerto Vallarta, He desperately tried to convince us to make a purchase by significantly knocking down the price for the unit that we were interested and we agree.

We went back to his office and made a provisional contract, in which we agreed to deposit $ 50,000 USD with the agreement that he would send the formal Purchase Agreement back to our home in Denver. After three months of unanswered phone calls and broken promises via email, we still had not received any paperwork, and decided to fly back to (((REDACTED))).

When we finally found him, he was clearly intoxicated, and claimed that the price of our unit had been raised by $42,000 USD.  When we asked for our money back, he harshly threatened that if we did not pay the difference, something bad was going to happen to us.

Terrified and unsure of what to do, we hired (((REDACTED))) , a local lawyer who promotes himself as a defender of investors who have been abused by the system. We agreed to a $8,000 USD retainer with the promise that our money would be returned in full within a month.

However we were never able to communicate with both of them  via email or phone again, and as we started to receive increasingly threatening phone calls from , we had no choice but to give up. 

Avoid the services (((REDACTED)))  and his company (((REDACTED))) and (((REDACTED))) both of them are crooks and they will steal your money.

Here is an admission from Mr Duran that all he wanted was for my company to remove some unrelated listings at this development from my website. There is no fraud, I have no idea who this sperson is. and he was trying to frame me because of an unrelated problem he had with the developer. These people should be banned from filing reports

i would firstly like to commment on the injustice that websites like Rip Off Report and Trip Advisor inflict on honest service providers. You allow unlimited damage to reputation, by people that have not proved their case, and in many instances have no case at all. Unfortunately, in the new world of social media, if it was reported, then it must be true. I now need to take valuable time out of my day to issue a rebuttal.

This person that has issued this complaint and the agent that is named in the report, is not known to me or has ever worked for my company. We have never done a viewing or sale at (((REDACTED ))) and I have never met the developer. If this person has lost money I would suggest, he pursue that person he paid and not try and destroy the reputations of people that have nothing to do with this development or his transaction.

His complaint also appears to lack considerable credibility, in that he has offered me the opportunity to not file the complaint, if I remove an unrelated rental/resale listing we have from our website. This does not sound like someone who has suffered a loss.

I trust this matter will disappear, but if not I would be happy to share with the readers of this site, some of the logic and language that this person has sent me.
