On 07/13/2012, I received an e-mail from PayPal (uslaw@ppmediauslawregulation.com) with the subject line Please update your PayPal account ( US Laws and Regulations ).  The e-mail read:

Please note: This is a service notification from PayPal regarding important information about your account

Dear PayPal member
We need to confirm some of your account information or collect further information. Please complete this by 15.07.2012. If we dont receive this information in time, PayPal is required by law to limit access to your account.

What should I do?

Please follow the link below and login to your account and renew your account information

Why is this required?

US law requires financial services firms like PayPal to confirm the identity of all our customers. This is necessary to provide a safer platform for our users and to help prevent the illegal use of our services.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your assistance in helping us maintain the integrity of the entire PayPal system. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Thank you for using PayPal!

When I clicked on the link, it took me to http://ppmediauslawregulation.com/paypalupdatedatabaseUSLAWSANDREG/index.html.  This page had a link to click to log in and supply the information.  That link took me to http://ppmediauslawregulation.com/paypalupdatedatabaseUSLAWSANDREG/webscr2.htm.  The webpage didnt ask me for my PayPal user ID or password, but it did ask for my bank account information, including the routing number and account number.  I believe that this is a scam.
