Has you or your firm experienced an erroneos credit affecting event and given no way to rectify the situation?


Recently my bank called to alert me that a company credit card had been compromised. That card was cancelled and a new one issued.  Unfortunately that account provided the monthly payment for a 1&1 Internet Service.  Didn't realize we were $48 in arrears until receiving a letter from their credit collection agency.


Called 1&1 to offer the correct card number and make the account current.  1&1 Customer Service??? said I must deal with the collection agency. 


When I asked why they didn't contact me per the delinquency, they claim to have sent emails.  Well both 1&1 and their collection agency are widely phished sites and I'm certain any electronic notification went directly to a junk mail folder.


Wheh I asked why they didn't mail an invoice or at least call, they explained they are a 'green company' and had no obligation to do either.


Of course the relatively minor $48 is in dispute and my firm now deals with a provider that is supporting our efforts rather than attempting to defame us.


Large German owned conglomerate that seems to have lost its way and is merely interested in keeping Accounts Payable current at the expense of a client's reputation.
