1 & 1 Internet Inc RIP-OFF RENEWED DOMAINS AFTER I CANCELED THEM & BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE Internet
I had purchased several domain names from 1&1 in Feb 2005, I renewed them the next year, but I had to call 1&1 because one of the domains was not working. I was given all kinds of excuses as to why they couldn't fix my problem, eventually I spoke to the manager & he fixed the problem. The customer service that I had recieved caused me to find another company. In Feb 2007 1&1 renewed my domain without my permission so I called 1&1 and the person I spoke to told me how to cancel my account & recieve a refund, if they had already charged my card. I did each step that he told me to take & I recieved an e-mail saying that my account had been canceled. 2 months later I was transfering my domains to another company, I got an e-mail saying that I couldn't transfer them because 1&1 had locked my account. I found out that 1&1 had renewed my account an attempted to charge my card (the card had been canceled for 5+ months) because they could not recieve an funds they locked the account and turned me over to a collection agency, without telling me. I called 1&1 and spoke to the billing manager and he refused to do anything.
