I have read the other reports filed concerning 1-800-UNLOCKS. I too have been a member of them since 1997. I have spoken to a couple people who believed they were double billed, I was actually double billed in august of 2002. I contacted Jeff Musser and he was very apologetic about what had occured. Evidently they had changed billing companies who were doing their credit cards. The transactions happened in the same month by the old company and the new one. They actually credited all of the cards back for the additional month. In doing so, some of the original cards on file were expired or no longer working. Those cards did not get credited. All we did was wait until we saw the credit on our card, and we were satisfied.

Obviously some people, the two who posted here maybe did not have a card to credit, or there was an issue of when they cancelled the service. Since we are on a month to month contract, we are required to give 30 days notice to terminate. Its written in chapter 12 of the license agreement, that you will be billed for an additional month for the 30 day notice, so basically when you terminate your service, the agreement clearly states there are 2 months billed, and then you are discontinued as a provider.

As for the person calling Jeff a crook, obviously there is some underlying drama that has nothing to do with 1-800-UNLOCKS. My husband and I have dealt with Jeff Musser and have had no problems. We have met him at the Associated Locksmiths of America trade shows on many occasions. Its just a shame that this site has to publish one side to the story. This is my 4th attempt to post my rebuttal, so I guess they only want you to hear the negative comments. I think its crazy to allow comments like the one from his ex girlfriend to appear about a company. It was definately slanderous, but the web is like the wild, wild, west!

You can notice by the dates the claims were submitted, they were years ago and most likely resolved. There is another site called pissed consumers.com and they have started the same drama over there.

Besides the double billing, we are satified with this company. We got our credit from the mistake, so here is my story.
