1 DOLLAR HOSTING / WEBCOUNTRY Ignored phone calls to cancel account for weeks, ignored "online support tickets to cancel" - now trying to bill me for $345 when I cancelled my account. Los Angeles California

RE: Fraudulent charges and Collections notice

On May 22, 2013 From March 10 May 24 I called 1 dollar Hosting Directly with no answers for 14 days and with me leaving messages requesting to close my account.I never received a call back, so then I also went to their online support site and filed numerous tickets for tecnical support and both billing departments -- again requesting to cancel with no resolution. I only received what I observe as template; we will look into this responses. I kept sending requests and then I received; we will send this to our Senior Admin but no one ever called or replied to me. This went on for a week (May 22-29 with no resolution or response To me via email or phone!!! This company doesn't answer their phone so I assume this Support Site; is the only way they deal with customers. In my case THEY DIDN'T RESPOND AT ALL. The tickets are marked closed once they are resolved and as in my case it it still open and not responded to ---- it's been over a year later (May 22, 2013) they never contacted me nor did they close their own ticket showing they completed this “internal business request was settled in a sufficient manner. They denied my requests to cancel from May 22-29 and are now requesting that I pay $348 for services not provided. My account has been closed and no services were provided. THIS IS PRUE FRAUD. THEY TRIED TO SEND TO COLLECTIONS AGENCIES BUT ONCE I GOT A LAWYER INVOLVED AND SENT THEM ALL THE COMPLAINTS FILED ONLINE - EVEN THE COLLECTIONS AGENCY WON'TDEAL WITH THEM. < WE NEED TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS: This is the worst hosting company ever. They never return your e-mails, you can not get to them on the phone, they know nothing when you do reach them, they assigned us our passwords and would not let us change them, they changed our username and forgot to tell us, they have not security on the mailserver, web site is not user friendly; I can go on for days about this.

Customer for more than 2 years worst hosting company ever. I agree with the other two reviews: poor customer service, don't answer emails, if you are luck enough to get them on the phone, you’ll just get more frustrated.The thing that total turned me against this company was that I was double billed for a page they were hosting. It was a nightmare trying to correct this and get my money back .

Customer for less than 3 months. They are so horrible that it's beyond belief. They are actually a fraudulent organization that is making money off of gullible people who want cheap web hosting. They don’t provide services, and then they come after you with hidden charges of hundreds of dollars. They threaten and intimidate you by saying that they will call a collection agency and issue a negative credit report if you do not immediately pay these hundreds of dollars! They have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. I wish I knew about this before, but I wasn't savvy enough to check first. I believed their false and deceptive advertising about being consistently ranked as America's top web hosting company.(Yes, i admit it; I'm far too trusting and naive.) These people should be in jail.

Customer for 1 - 2 years. I first just wanted my domain name registered, and it was up and didn't use the site. I only used email and that was always a problem. Every few weeks or couple months when lucky, I would not have a problem. And they give you the nice OHH, we moved you on the new server now…you should have no issues…YA RIGHT…and now I actually would like to put some content on the webiste, but I am afraid to so I wanted dto move…but they locked my domain, and I cant…so I dont know what legal actions I am going to take. I have a lawyer that i am looking at involving if they dont make my life easier by letting my domain unlock. The address they post is litterly down the street from me, which I doubt is valid. I am going to clear that up today. This company is so scary to deal with I dont even want to post my info…they are likely to do something worse.Dave { Customer for less than 3 months}

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. Everything that all the other reviewers have said is true. They won’t return emails or phone calls and DO threaten you with collection, etc. when you finally do speak with them.

What a POS company and site. If there was zero starrs it would have that.
This company makes all its money by ripping off your credit cards and billing you for services that you never use. Want to cancel your account. You have to notify 30 days in advance from their site. If you dont, you lose. They bill you and if you dont pay, add $150 to the account and send off to collection agency.
Want to get even?
Pay with acredit card, when your bill comes, dispute the account and have them fight the credit card comapny.
Screw them. I had my account set up with them for over 10years. I am glad to be gone, and gone forever.

After I cancelled my account with Webcountry, they charged me for another year and sent the account to collections. All this was done without attempting to contact me. Total fraud and most likely illegal business practices. Stay away unless you want to get ripped off and like dealing with collection agencies. Whole company is a joke, especially that loser Phil Shapiro.

Big SCAM
They suspend your hosting any time and offer no response to support tickets. their cpanel never work properly.
