I pre-ordered 1040Lync professional tax prep software for $324 in October 2014 to lock in early-bird pricing discount. I expressed concerns about several non-functioning features and erroneous tax return calculations. I was assured they would all be addressed by hte time the software shipped in the first week of December 2014 and that if I was not satisfied I would receive a full refund.

As of 12-27-2014 I still hadn't receieved any software delivery and had to make several calls in order to have them provide me a downloadable version of the software. Not only were all the previous glitches still present, I noticed several new ones as well. I immediately requested a refund and that's where the saga and games begin.

Once I asked for my money back then I was referred to a refund policy which was never mentioned before or shared with me that stated that all refund request must be physically mailed and would required 4-8 week approval and processing time. First 1040Lync claimed not to have recevied the letter I mailed them. I spoke to the office manager Constance Rheinscheld and asked if I could fax in my request. When she said yes I asked why I couldn't have simply done that in the first place and also asked why it was necessary to tka e8 weeks to process my refund. She then accused me of being rude and even though I told her I needed the money ASAP because I had to put out alot more money to purchase software from Intuit I could tell by her tone that she was probably going to drag the process out to teach me a lesson. Then the fax was supposedly never recevied so I emailed a scan of the letter to sales manager Jay Monk and was told my refund would be processed. Make a long story short, after numerous back and forth calls, emails, estarting the prcess with new sales manager Craig Lester, promises of checks pending delivery, in the mail, pending signature from Constance, pending signature from the owner Craig Hughes, ongoing passing the buck and games I finally contacted the BBB and Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance.

They flat out failed to respond to the BBB and they flat out lied to the Tennesse DoCI claiming that I failed to qualify for a refund due to waiting too long to request the refund and also lied claiming that I agreed to accept a credit against another product from them. Anything to avoid giving me my money back. Their "refund policy" even states that if you file a dispute with your credit card or make a complaint against them theat your refund rights will be voided. Every trick in the book to avoid giving a customer a refund.

This is absolutely THE WORST AND MOST FRUSTRATING process I have ever endured as a consumer and I feel totally victimized and unfortunately since I'm in New York and they're based in Tennessee the cost to file a lawsuite against them would be more than what I have lost in choosing the wrong company to do business with.

I subsequently realized that 1040Lync is basically owned and run by Doug Hughes who also ran TaxLync, a company that has a notorious reputation it appears. Mr. Hughes is very adept at changing addresses, DBA's, web addresses in order to put a shiny new coat of paint on the same theiving, ripoff black hole that exists to prey upon unsuspecting tax professionals. The DOCI is still lookin into the matter but if I ever see a penny of may hard earned dollars returned I will be amazed.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS OR SPEND ANY MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!
