13Gypsies ripped me off for over $600 over the span of 3.5 years.  She used to sell her oils as "Macabre Undertakings" in 2006, where she was doing more or less the same thing.  She constantly changed her company's name, the scent descriptions, websites... all of which I thought were odd.  I still bought from her, because she was a very nice woman that I befriended through MySpace and we had a ton of stuff in common.

In late 2009, I decided I wanted to start making my own perfume oils so I found a community for perfumers called "Basenotes", and a kind person there pointed me toward saveonscents.com

I was on a budget, and they said that this was the best way to experiment with oils without spending a fortune.  I noticed a lot of the oils that I wanted to buy seemed familiar: the names, descriptions and often both.  I ordered them, figured I saw them somewhere on another fragrance oil site that I was browsing through, as well.

When she moved over to Etsy, each order I placed, the oils just got weaker and more diluted.  A lot of the dupes I ordered were completely different from the ones I already owned.  I was getting fed up with all of this, since she began to charge nearly double of what she charged on her MySpace blog/website.

The last order I placed was so negative that I never bought from her again, and my order from SOS/Save on Scents arrived around the same time.  I opened the oils to smell them, and... OH MY GOD, I already OWNED them !! I was pretty sure I knew who the culprit was, and sadly I was right.  Here I was getting ripped off the entire time, and her perfume oil shoppe is beginning to really take off on Etsy and it makes me sick.

I called her out on it by reaching her most frequent customers to tell them what I saw.  Some thought I was a liar, one of them even said they could care less if she is a reseller and doing it dishonestly (who am I to stand in the way of their stupidity ?) and I even heard back from one of them claiming they knew something was wrong with her oils and that they stopped liking them.

For the last year, off and on obviously, I have been gathering research against her to publish for all to see. I visited a forum I used to frequent back in 2006, called bpal dot org, and I noticed that people noticed this back in 2007 !!  She has a long paper trail of ripping people off and then closing her shoppe and relocating.

I created a blog where I wrote about my experiences with her and her company, it can be found here: (((link redacted)))

If you love gothic perfume oils like I do, read the blog and be informed ! She is ripping people off and clearly, she is one that should be avoided !

After reading your comment I was intruqued enough to purchase dozens of oils from both 13 Gypsies and Save On Scents.

I order the same notes (ones I love and have many variations from different perfum houses)  I found NO similarity between 13 Gypsies and Save On Scents.   I did however find many other designer oils that use SOS.   So...maybe you should know for certain before you launch an electroinc "witch hunt". Shame on you.

Ever since I created the blog I mentioned, she has changed nearly all of her descriptions - again... This one oil of hers I used to wear all the time, supposedly had berries and vanilla in it... Now she claims it's a musky floral with a hint of berries... :\  Who knows what it's gonna be a month from now.

She also discontinued most of the oils I mentioned in the blog. The fact that she is still selling and has a decent customer base alarms me.  I've reported her to Etsy several times, and they won't do anything.

She got shut down on eBay back in 2007-2008 for having an eBay shoppe called "Comparable to BPAL (Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab)", where she claimed her oils were "comparable, if not better than BPAL", but she would type it as BPal... Clever, huh?

She also threatened to sue me last November, and it didn't hold up.  I wonder why...

SPREAD THE WORD!!
