I purchased a Wordpress theme from 17thavenuedesigns and when I downloaded it it was the wrong theme. I contacted her thinking it would be an easy fix but she told me I was out of luck and in order to get the theme I wanted I would have to pay again! I emailed her back and it's been a week now with no response. Beware of 17thavenuedesigns on etsy! scammer!

Hello!

First, I am incredibly sorry that this customer felt she was scammed. However, I can't find any record of emails or Etsy messages about this. I spent an hour poring through our Etsy messages this afternoon and couldn't find anything that relates to this complaint. Additionally, it is not our policy to tell a customer they have to purchase again if they purchased the wrong theme.

To explain – in our shop, we offer two different versions of several of our themes (Blogger and WordPress). We frequently have customers order the incorrect version of a theme (i.e. ordered a Blogger template when they actually wanted a WordPress theme). When this happens, we are always happy to send the customer the correct theme for only the cost difference between the two versions (usually $5 USD). Since we opened in 2012, we've exchanged templates countless times and are always glad to do so. We completely understand that it's easy to get confused between different blogging platforms and we have never told a customer to repurchase an entirely new theme due to that confusion.

I will note: we had a customer named Jennifer (screen name used in this report was 'Jenn') who ordered the wrong theme version on May 25th 2018. On May 31st 2018, she notified us of the mistake and her theme was exchanged that same day. I'm not sure if that was the same person, since it seems it occurred after this complaint, but I thought it worth mentioning in case the dates listed here are somehow off. We don't have record of anyone else named Jen/Jenn/Jennifer ordering in our Etsy shop in March, April, or May 2018.
