Complaint Review: 1st American Law Group - Dean G Chandler

1st American Law Group - Dean G Chandler I paid $2995 to have my mortgage restructured and 4 months later I have no restructure and no refund! San Marcos, California

I contracted this company on attorney and law group on June 4, 2009 to assist in the restructuring of my home mortgage.  I paid them in full, $2,995.00, for their assitance in this matter.  After promising that my case was a "slam dunk", turns out that 3 1/2 months later they just found out that the bank holding my mortgage doesn't have the adequate government program(s) in place for them to proceed.

Post being aggrivated and enraged for their lack of competency and due diligence I requested a full refund of my money.  I was passed on to the "manager" in charge of refunds, Scott Spencer (866) 247-5865 ext. 4110.  Needless to say that after a week long of calls and only one successful conversation, I got nowhere with my refund.

I turned to the owner of the company, Attorney Dean G. Chandler, Esq. to address the matter.  It was now October 5th when Dean finally returned my call, after my first request for refund on September 21st, 2009.  After speaking with Dean, he reassured me that Scott would be removed from the equation and he'd deal with the issue personally.  I requested a full refund of my $2,995 due to his firm's inability to successfully process/transact my case.  He requested me to give him 2 weeks and I would have my money back.  I was kind enough to give 3 weeks and still no refund.  It is now, October 26, 2009, exactly 3 weeks since his promise for refund and nothing.

I have contacted the California BAR, I've reached out to my bank for assistance, and I've consulted an attorney.  California seems to be an "occurrence" state, since per my coversation with the bar, the BAR's security fund has been severely depleted by attorneys that have gone into the "restructuring" business and gone "rogue".

If you have a file with this attorney, have seen his TV commercials, or are contemplating engaging this firm, save yourself the heart ache, and find someone local to you that you can drive to.

Anyone, any agency legal or goverment, can feel free to contact me if they have suggestions in this matter.  I'm doing all I can on my end, and will make sure that if I will not recoupe my $2,9995, I spend them well by letting as many outlets know what type of attorney and law firm they are.

Here's all of their information:

i did a loan modification with this same law firm

first of all, they actually told me not to pay them in full...they wanted the money as the services where rendered.

i did look at your report before hiring them, but when they didnt ask for any money up front, i knew they were a legit company, after all, who wants to work for free unless they know for sure they are a slam dunk case.

i talked to a rep named Shelveen 866-321-3510 ext 212

my loan modification just completed after a month and a half and i love my results. they reduced my principle balance and lowered my rate.

i suggest you call my rep for your refund, he was great and helped me through the whole process, even helped write my hard-ship letter.
