Complaint Review: 1st Capitol Film & Investment

As a film maker, we contacted this company and it's represenitive Chester W. Peggese. Chester claimed that he could get us investors for our film project in the amount of 4 million dollars. After hearing his pitch, we believed he was able to get this done and we sent him the information he needed fufilling all requried request. After a week, we contacted him to find out how things were going and he stated he had an investor for the first half of the investment, but did not say how much that was, that the investor had not finished looking over the paperwork we had sent. I then ask Chester if he had anyone in line for the second half of the investment and he said yes, but was having trouble contacting him that morning and would try that afternoon, and if he could not contact him that day, he felt sure he would be able to the next day. He said he felt sure thay would invest, but was not fully sure. Thay had the paperwork. 

I told my affiliate producer what I had been told, and he stated he had a few questions he wanted to ask Chester. So he said he would email him the 4 questions and wait for his responce. Here are the questions sent in the email.

1) Does the first in investor mean the first 2million?

2) Also you mentioned you have the P & A, How much P & A?

3) You also said you have the AMC theaters. What kind of deal do you have with them?

4) What kind of deal are you looking for as the executive producer?

A few weeks went by with no responce. These questions were all advoided. My affiliate producer sent me some emails asking if I had heard from him. I told him I had emailed Chester and told him that my affiliate producer had and I had a contract to sign between us being that he was getting very close to the funds we needed and we would get back with him as soon as that was done. When it was finished, I tryed to contact Chester, whom we had not had any contact from, and told him I wanted to do a follow up. I text him, sent 2 or 3 emails, called his phone and left several voice messages and nothing was ever returned that day or the next day.

That night, I had found out that one of my sales reps was getting phone calles from Chester wanting to help him with funds on a movie project he was doing. But Chester still had not returned my calls. We all make faith films and another person I know, had heard where we were looking for funding and that we had been working with Chester. He wanted to talk with Chester about possabley investing 2 million dollars. Chester told him it was late and would talk with him in the morning. The investor told him he had meetings in the morning and would contact him latter. This was through text messages. Chester then proceeded to cuss this man out by way of text. These text messages have been saved.

I called my sales rep and told him what had happened and he said drop Chester like a bomb. He is a fraud and lier. Do not, Do not have anything to do with this guy or his so called business. He want's to be controling and will lie to you. BAD business. Don't go there. We have our proof. This guy is on Linkendin, Facebook and has a website under the business name. He does not do what he says he will do. Leave him alone and move on.
