Complaint Review: 1ST Choice Corp. Bill Jarvis

 My name is James and I am a GC in the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. 1st Choice called me about a Berke Retail store they were doing a build-out on and needed a GC to help them get started. They immediately sent the money to get the project started and pull the necessary permits. It was well under way when I asked for money after performing a task I had under contract. I e-mailed 6 invoices and they said their server had omitted them. I then gave them a drop-dead date and went to the city to drop the permits. On that date, they blew my phone up calling, me to not drop the permits. They sent that money a couple of days later. At the conclusion of the project, I was out of town working, so they conveniently had the building inspector issue a Ceertificate of Occupancy. I called the next day after investigating them on-line, but it was done. I called Bill Jarvis to get the balance of my change order invoice, which they supposedly approved. I never received any return phone call..

I called the main office in Sarasota, only to get stonewalled several times. This let me know that all of the office people are privy to their thefts and go along with them. They will eventually "stiff" the wrong people since they do a lot of work in Vegas, and someone will get hurt or even worse. They pocket money belonging to innocent contractors, subcontractors, and vendors only to take extravgant vacations and laugh at us. The retail comapnies they perform the work for know about this, but do nothing.
