As part of fundraising activities for our non-profit organization, my ex-husband and I participated in surveys. We completed offers for pay. Many of the companies continued to debit my account after cancelling.

When I contacted my Credit Union, 1st Choice Credit Union of Lincoln, NE, and asked them what to do, they told me they didn't know what I could do, that this type of thing was very new. As my losses mounted, I did some research and found the rip-off report Website and their information on Regulation E. My credit union had done exactly what they said the financial institutions do.....they give you no help or advice and your losses continue.

The Website advised that I mention Regulation E to my Credit Union. It was like magic! I immediately got their attention and they helped me with the problem. They ended up having to reimburse me 741.00. Then, in retaliation, they revoked my debit card.

Even though my husband had just gone through the same thing, they issued him a new card. I complained to the Ne Banking and Finance Dept and they immediately took the Credit Union's side without investigating any of the statements or allegations. Another example that the old boy's club is alive and well.
