This was the worst experience of my life. The movers were supposed to be at my home between 10AM and 2PM. I called repeatedly and emailed my agent, Alfredo, to see where the movers were and never received a response. Eventually the movers showed up around 5PM. I had taken off work this day and their showing up late kept me from working even longer. The movers didn't finish until almost 10:00 PM. Also, because the men showed up late, they were racing to quickly load up the truck as they were losing daylight. They badly scraped up a brand new desk I hadn't used yet and had just purchased a few months before from Ashley Furniture for $1,477.18. In addition, as soon as the foreman greeted me he began sexually harassing me. Continually throughout the move he made me feel exceedingly uncomfortable by making inappropriate comments about the way I look by repeatedly hitting on me, making comments about wanting to be my boyfriend, etc. There were two younger men with this foreman that played witness to much of it. One of the men was new and had mentioned it being his first day. In addition to their tardiness and ruining my desk, the amount I was quoted was nearly $1,000 less than what I was actually charged after the truck was loaded. These men didn't show me how they loaded the truck so how am I to know whether or not my items truly took up more space than quoted? Not to mention, I detailed everything that was picked up in my estimate. I also gave Alfredo, my agent, very detailed descriptions of, for example, my very large desk. I sent him pictures and provided estimated measurements. I even gave him a larger number of boxes than what was actually used also to ensure my estimate was high and as close to accurate as possible. For these people to charge me the extortionate amount of money that they did, on top of the sexual harassment I received AND the furniture that was ruined, is ludicrous and I fully expect some reimbursement. I emailed multiple people at the company my complaint, including Alfredo and their general info email box. I also called and spoke to another man who asked me to forward him the email I had sent. I did so and again received no response. I've never received such terrible customer service, if you would even call this a service, and I'm now left with unexpected debt due to their scam. They had to know when providing me a quote that my items, after the detailed description they were given, would take up more than the quoted square footage. And if not, then I was lied to about the amount of space my furniture actually took up. I felt as though I had no choice but to sign the paperwork and pay the driver after all of my things were loaded or they would not deliver my furniture, or worse, unload the truck and leave it there outside of the storage unit. Not once was it mentioned that it seemed as though my amount of furniture was going to exceed what was quoted, so I was caught off guard when the driver presented me with a bill that was a thousand dollars more.
