First of all, I tried to resolve my issue with 1st Convenience Bank by talking to a representative at the toll free number.  The representative had absolutely no listening skills.  I asked her several times to let me explain my situation, but she eventually ended up screaming on the phone.  I then asked to speak to a representative who also had no listening skills (imagine that!).

Here is my complaint.  1st Convenience Bank charged me overdraft fees of $69.94 when I was showing an available balance.  I called the toll-free # to find out why I was charged the fees when I had an available balance.  They said that the overdraft fees were the result of transactions that occurred after I had scheduled transactions that were pending.  I asked the supervisor if they had paid the pending transactions and she said no.  So I asked her if they were charging me fees on transactions that were not paid (pending).  She said no, the fees were charged on 2 other transactions that had been paid.  I told her that funds were available when these transactions were made.  I also made a $300 deposit on the day we spoke which covered the pending transactions.  However, the cash deposit was not showing until 3 days later.  Amazing - the cash transaction was pending and not available!  Bottom line - this bank is ripping off customers on overdraft fees!  I told the supervisor I wanted those fees refunded since they had not paid the transactions and she refused.

If you look at other reports of this nature with this bank, there are several.  I have banked with many different banks and this is the first time I have been charged overdraft fees on pending transactions.  Also, the majority (if not all) the other banks credit a cash deposit immediately.

My next step is to talk to the Texas banking commission.
