I received a phone call stating that I had qualified for a $2,500 MasterCard. All I had to do was pay a processing fee of $296 payable by check. They told me that it would take 15-20 days before I received the applications and signature card to be returned, so patiently I waited. While taking down my mailing address and contact info I was transferred to a so called recorded line where I was told that our conversation was now being recorded for security reasons.

Once done I was again informed that it would take 15-20 days before I received the applications and signature card to be returned. On about the 25th day, I called the company to check on the status and they told me that it was in the mail and on its way.

After waiting a couple more weeks, it still hasn't arrived, so I called again. They then told me that it had just been mailed out that same day and that I should receive it very soon within a couple days. I then became a little suspicious because I was already told that it had been sent out the week prior to that. I then gave it the benefit of the doubt and waited again.

Still no reply from them nor any application received. I have spoken to many employees regarding my situation such as Mr. Josh, Ms. Molly, Ms. Christine and of course Mr. John Carver himself. It has now been over two months and I keep getting bogus excuses and unprofessional attitudes such as not wanting to give out their names when now asked. I finally did a search on the web and low and behold found this company reported on the RIPOFFREPORT.COM website

Someone need to seriously investigate and put a stop to these companies for I feel that they are a scam considering their recent attitudes and run arounds. I am aware that my bank will refund the monies debited from my account but I was told that the banks insurance usually covers these issues. That tells me that companies as the one mentioned here will continue to get away with these scams as long as the banks see them as being covered by their insurance.

Please tell me that these companies will not be allowed to get away with this scam due to insurance policies. If so it will only encourage others to establish such fraudulent companies know that they will get away with such acts because the banks "have insurances to cover these acts".

Anyway, my money has been returned and I continue to call 1st Union Credit just to put them on the spot. I call them and state comments such as:

"Are you aware that you are working for a fraudulent company ?"

"How do you feel knowing that you work for a fraudulent company?"

"Do you believe in karma?"

"Are you aware that on your day of judgment, God will judge you on such acts as these?"

I really hope that our Government puts a stop to these fraudulent companies. For now I will continue to call them and put them on the spot.
