After 8 years our overhead microwave stopped working. We submitted a request for warranty service with 2-10 home buyers warranty. They sent a technician and he said the unit needs to be replaced as there is a crack in the unit. The 2-10 Home buyers warranty denied our claim saying we misused or abused it.

We know we haven't done anything like that. We were using it for 8 years and we are very careful about our appliances. The warranty folks taked as if we don't know how to use our appliances. It is an overhead microwave and we don't understand what they mean by abusing it. We sure did not take a hammer to it.

After 8 years, it is more than possible that the unit stopped working due to regular wear and tear. We had the extreme protection with 2-10 home buyers warranty and they are supposed to replace any appliance if it cannot be repaired.

This is our first claim in 8 years with this company where they had to replace an unit. We feel that the company is a fraud and just do not want to spend money to replace the unit and putting the blame on us. Our contract is also up for renewal and we decided to change our warranty company. We will no longer stay with 2-10.

Took a second opinion on our microwave issue

We called a technician at our own expense for a second opinion and he said that magnitron was bad and there was no mis use or abuse. After 9 years of use it just broke down due to normal wear and tear. I sent his report to 2-10 warranty company. I am waiting for their response. If this company doesn't address my issue then it is a confirmation that they are just frauds. I am attaching the technician's report.
