Claim description

2 Brothers Automotive

On July 10, 2018, my 2005 Ford F-350 arrived at 2 Brothers  Automotive. On July 10, 2019, I, Katie Bartz, had the 2005 F350 towed by Town and Country Auto and Wrecker Service to a diesel repair shop in Waleska, Ga called Alltrux . I had the truck removed from 2 Brothers Automotive because I was constantly promised by RJ, the owner of 2 Brothers Automotive, that the truck would be ready every week for the past six months.

The truck was “almost ready” so many times, but each time we inquired about it, 2 Brothers added another repair, parts, and labor charge. The total amount invested in the promised repair of the truck equaled $7,174.18.  When the truck arrived at Alltrux, I received a call from the mechanic. He suggested that my dad and I come see the condition of the truck.

When we arrived, the Ford F-350 was in the same condition, if not worse than when it had arrived at 2 Brother Automotive one year ago. Not one thing had been done to the truck: no batteries, no new computer, no head studs - the list goes on. Pictures were taken of the truck. It was very obvious that the truck sat untouched at 2 Brothers Automotive for one year.

On July 11th, 2019, I called 2 Brothers Automotive to get all the invoices and dates of what was claimed to have been completed.  At first they said they could not get the invoices to me that day because they had all the records “in the computer, at home”. So I said I would come the next day to collect the invoices. When I arrived the next day on July 12th, I spoke with RJ, the owner of 2 Brothers Automotive, and mentioned that not one thing was done on the truck.

I told him about the spider webs throughout the engine of the truck, and his only response was, there were also spiders in the truck. He told me to go ahead and dispute the charges on my credit card,  and he asked me how I would like to handle the situation. I said I would like a full refund of what he charged us for everything involving the F350. RJ agreed to giving the full refund.

RJ said his brother had to do all the refund transactions from their home, because that is where the credit card processing machine was located. As RJ spoke on the phone with his brother, he went through every individual invoice stating the amount to be refunded and the date of each transaction. I stood there for almost an hour as each refund was supposedly processed individually.

When we were done with each refund, I  asked RJ for a confirmation that the refund had been processed. He printed out and signed a piece of paper that included the amount to be refunded and said that it would take five to seven business days to show up in the account. There were numerous phone calls and conversations with RJ promising it would show up. He was very specific with exact days and times to expect the refund to appear. 20 days went by and it never showed up in the account.

A dispute was filed with Bank of America. They accepted 4 out of the 5 disputes.  The amount of $2,104.20, the down payment of the repairs, was denied in the dispute. The original refund confirmation is $7,174.68. The amount refunded through Bank of America plus the $2,104.20, equals the agreed refund amount on the original refund confirmation from 2 Brothers Automotive.

On August 14, 2 Brothers Automotive promised the remaining $2,104.20 would be be refunded. Just like the first promised refunds, there have been numerous phone calls and emails promising the refund, along with the confirmation. It has been almost 3 weeks and there's no refund. 2 Brothers Automotive has stopped responding.
