21st Century Insurance ripoff pays out to woman filed frualent claim then dropped me Woodland Hills California
Wife went throught a drive through window at mcdonalds and tapped the car ahead of her from a dead stop at least then 2 feet slightly uphill and no more then 2-4 mph. she didnt respond to the tap or nothing til my wife had goten her food and then when she left the lady was standing in the parking lot jumping up and down waving her arms my wife pulled over and talked to the lady they checked the cars and no damge no scraps no nothing my wife called me because all lady wanted was our insurance because she wanted to go home and think about it, she was wearing scrubs so she was getting off work or going to caregiving job she declined to give us her name she declined for us to call cops cause wasnt any damage but all she wanted was our insurance information wouldnt give us hers.
My insurance called and wanted inforamation because her insurance wasnt coroperating witht hem either.. about 1 hour later she called and said she washeading to er with head and neck and back pains i thought omg how in the hell but its true she filled a report with my insrance and sure enough they paid her after they told me she was a scammer and theres no way they will pay her for that i didnt hear from anyone for 4-5 mths til i got letter saying they were dropping us .
So now we are screwed and have to pay 100 extra to get insurance because they paid a scammer. be on the lookout they pay ppl off so they can get you to pay more money or get you droppped and pay someone else alot more money its all a scam and we are pi**ed.

A similar thing happend to me 5 months ago I was leaving a gas station I had stopped & this other car turned infront of me striking my vehicle. The other driver lied to the police saying I continued to exit while he was turning also he had no insurance & a switched tag. they where no witnesses the police took his word but they did ticket him for having no insurance.
The driver looked similar to what the OP described who it them I was not givin a ticket I also took pictures. of course later my insurance paid the other driver $900 for his damange & my insurance increased an extra $100. My insurance paid this scammer so know he thinks he has gotten away with hitting & damanging my vehicle & he thinks he can scam & damage someone else vehicle!

I had a similar incident happen to me. I was on an off-ramp. My car gently tapped the car in front of me. The lady driver went hysterical. She said that she was calling the police. She made everyone on the off ramp wait for 12 minutes. I took pictures of her expired licence plate and the pile of cars that were lined up due to her ignorance of not pulling off to the shoulder. When police got there -- she then gets out of her car and starts to claim "old" damage as new damage. They let me go on the claim that they would be writing her a ticket for her negligence to renew her registration for the car.
Carry a camera if you don't have one in your phone. It carries a lot of weight with the law and in court.

Don't ever blindly give out insurance info

I had a similar incident. Softly bumped a guy on a slick road. I called the cops on my cell phone and waited by the car. The other driver suggested exchanging info but when it came to him showing me, he skips out saying he'd call. Fortunately he didn't get my insurance info, just the licence. The cops come and I tell them he skipped off so there was no other party on the police report. Hours later I get a call from an obvious lawyer still trying to conceal his identity. I ask who are you and I get I'm the guy you hit. I says well, I hit somebody who left so I and the responding cops will never know who it was. And hung up the phone. Clearly, this guy was lacking drivers liscense or registration or something but I wasn't going to play his game of unknown identity. The lesson, never give out info unless the cops are present and if they won't wait, too bad for them. You may be able to retrieve the police report the scammer had to file and contest it with the police as incorrect. She had to have spoken for you as accepting responsibility for all that happened which may now be significant damge to her car since she had time to destroy it prior to filing a report.
