In 1995 i bought a mobile home and was financed through another company; sometime in 1996 my loan was sold to 21st mortgage company; for 2 years i payed my payments through military direct deposit; until 21st mortgage contacted me and told me i was 2 yrs behind. after 6 mos of fighting with them and showing proof i had payed they realized that they had put my payments in a john doe account. In 2002 when i was moved by thearmy i could not rent my mobile home so i continued to pay; when i contacted to ask about payoff i was told 50,000.00 which was the same as what i borrowed; i was told that my account was set up as if it was a car and i had compounded interest daily and that because of 2 years of missing payment i incrued more debt. i could not afford to continue to fight with the company and asked how we could settle the problem they said the would pick up the house and sell it for me; i agreed; they said it wouldn't be like a repo; i just got my credit report and 21st mortgage has that i owe then 51,819.00. more than i even borrowed in 1995. I have not heard from this company since 2005 and now i find out they are reporting that i have to pay them 4318.25 a month for 12 months to get this off my credit report. I paid 650.00 a month for 10 years. i contacted a lawyer; however it will cost me over 2,000.00 just to get him to look into it; i can't afford that and i believe that is why they do what they do. Moral of the story is; even if you don't finance with 21st morgage they can still buy your loan and get you.

This company is a joke. My parents have them as their mortgage company at this time and have had nothing but problems since 21st bouhgt their mortgage from another company. I just wanted to tell you that since you haven't had any contact since 2005 and they are being unreasonable, wait 2 more years and it will be off your credit.
As for the company response that they can't discuss this because of confidentiality. Well that's such a lie because this company called my husbands parents and told them how much my parents were behind in their mortgage and they need to get ahold of my parents for them because they were going to take their home. Their not even related. When I called them to see why they are calling my in laws when it is my parents who own the home. They said they could and then gave me my parents information. So much for them following the laws and being confidential.
By the way my parents weren't even behind on their mortagage. They lost 4 payments and my parents had to show proof from the bank that their check was cashed by them. It still shows on their credit that they were late on 4 payments 2 years later.
