My husband advertised on Craigslist in the Anne Arundel County area for a mobile auto service.  We wanted some work done on our RV before leaving the area in it.  Having someone come out to us instead of driving the RV to them was more convenient for us, so we placed the ad.

A man named "Scott" (Robert Scott Curran) came to the address we are currently parked at and he and my husband began the conversation about what we wanted done and his ability to do it all.  He assured us he would be doing all the work himself and that he had all the proper tools to do the work required, though he was in a small car and had none said tools with him.

His wife sat in the car the entire time we sat outside talking with Scott.  She was nice and asked about our dog in the yard.  After everything was agreed upon,  Scott wrote out a work ticket of the work to be done and posted that day's date (6/2/12) and the date of expected work completion (6/7/12).  He then asked for a $100 deposit and we gave it in cash.

We called him once a few days later and he claimed the parts were not in.  My husband tried every day after that for 4 days and Scott nor his wife answered the phone or returned the msgs my husband left.  I called from my phone# and Scott picked up the phone after only 3 rings.  He claimed the same thing....the parts had not come in yet.  He has yet to return any of my calls since then.

We feel we have been scammed/ripped off by this couple.  We believe this is how they are making their money all day.  We wanted to give the work to ''the little guy'' not a big company......now we don't trust ''the little guy''.  Darn shame.
