4 Wheel Parts has an "Unsatisfactory Performance Record" with the Better Business Bureau when it comes to answering consumer complaints along with the following below:

*Delivery Issues
*Difficulty obtaining Refunds
*Overcharging
*Poor Installation
*Poor Customer Service
*Billing Disputes
*Failure to Deliver Ordered Merchandise /Missing Items/ Incorrect Items

Mechanics placed outer sidewall down on bedliner ruining the look of the brand new spare tire and refused to replace it. There have also been a "myraid" of complaints with these PRO COMP Tires developing SEVERE Tire Pulls and bulges in their treads at 8,000, 12,000, and 20,000 miles

Mechanics dripped installation silicone into the oil pan of my brand new truck when it only had 5,811 miles while attempting to install a supercharger. This, "Improper Installation" caused silicone to restrict the oil pick-up filter screen and other parts of the engine causing overheating and detonation.
Independent mechanics stated that this "Improper Installation" by 4 Wheel Parts caused the engine to "GRENADE." Shamefully, 11 months have passed and 4 Wheel Parts are still trying to get out of replacing the vehicles engine.

I ordered from and had 4WP Mechanics install a brand new DENALI instrument cluster into my chevy truck for additional temperature gauges. Their mechanics installed this cluster with (ZERO MILES) never sending it out to have it re-calibrated to my vehicles original miles of 5,811 violating several STATE/FEDERAL laws in the process. I complained to them and they responded by stating, "Have you smogged your truck yet, then the DMV will never know. The representative continued, "Do you see my Dodge truck out there, I'm 18,000 miles over my LEASE, I just put in a (ZERO MILE) cluster."
Not only did this 4WP sales rep. commit LEASE FRAUD, he committed auto manufacture warranty FRAUD as well. The question is, how many times had they done this.

State Ininvestigators are also reviewing reports/conducting personal interviews, and have even conducted full entire audits of business records to date.

4WP so-called ASE certified mechanics made yet an "Improper Instalation" whe it came to installing a "REAR DIFF SKID PLATE."
Mechanics pressed against/pinched the rear parking brake cable partially activating the rear wheel brakes.

This condition is extremely dangerous due to the fact that it direclty effects the stopping performance (anti-lock) braking system of the vehicle during all driving conditions; increasing stopping distance.

It is expected that the Burea of Automotive Repair will issue a stiff violation/one day shutdown of their business and/or both.

State Investigators are coming to a conclusion/close regarding the incident of making gross product performance misrepresentations and selling of a non-compatible High Performance Gibson Exhaust System for my truck. The manager one again pushed this product on to me stating that, "I required it for my supercharger and my stock system diamater was only 2 1/2 inches wide v.s the 3 inch Gibson. This was a complete misrepresentation of the facts regarding both untis. These employees used pressure of speech tactics and double team tactics to get me to agree on purchasing this item.

This Gibson unit made a "Resonnace" sound that would penetrate the drivers cab at or about 1,800 R.P.M. & 2,800 R.P.M as if someone was blowing over a coke bottle next to you. I decided to drive out to the the Main Gibson Factory Corporation and speak to the designers directly. Gibson members stated, "The Gibsone is a very High Performance Exhaust system moving air at
143 CFM (cubic feet per min).

However, this Gibson Exhaust unit was never designed to handle the massive air flow that a supercharger puts out. 4WP should have never sold you and installed this system on your vehicle, that's what our 1-800 phone numbers are listed for. I went back to the 4WP staff and relayed the information to them, "Obtaining an answer of, "That's B.S." which clearly leaves someone an impression of the mentallity and poor service at 4WP.

Then I made the formal requests for a full refund for the $399.00 Gibson exhaust system and for them to replace my stock $406.00 factory exhaust system. Initially 4WP agreed apon this and then began to drag its feet.......waiting 1.5 weeks for a replacement factory stock exhaust, when one at the time could be ordered and obtained in just(4) days. Then the delay turned into (3) weeks then purposely to over 1.5 months. 4WP was now in breach of their contractual obligation and was clearly trying to frustrate me to just leave and go elsewhere. Little did they know that they were tape recorded on several occasions

Investigators also noticed that 4 Wheel Parts so-called ASE Certified Mechanics again completed an, "Improper Installation" when simply attempting to install my Giant PIAA lights onto my pre-runner bar. The report reads something like, "Washer size selected for installation application too small causing cracks to form in the mounting tabs."

I took my brand new truck back to 4WP and they attempted every, "Used car dealership excuse that I have ever heard upon me." They first stated, "You ordered a street version "Pre-runner bar" and it was never designed to take the abuse that you put it through on the street." I replied, "First of all, I have not done what you claim and furthermore show it to me in writting that this pre-runner bar is a street version only." He could not find it anywhere. "Well, I'm gonna have to call my General Manager and he'll get in touch with you directly, but as expected he never did." I ended up spending the same amount as I spent for the entire pre-runner bar itself to repair and powder coat it of $180.00

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!

4 Wheel Parts Disgracefully Earns 15 State Issued Violations

#22Consumer Suggestion

Sat, January 01, 2005

The State Agency, Bureau of Automotive Repair has completed their several month long Fraud investigation into the company known as 4 Wheel Parts Performance Centers/Transamerican Auto Parts Inc. This company operates a nationwide chain of off-road stores, Including but not limited to the SELLING of Factory Truck Warranties Redeemable At All Major Nationwide Dealerships, and is also in the business of selling aftermarket parts/accessories to dealerships nationwide.

Several questionable issues delayed and/or interfered with the State Agencies abilities to complete their full investigation into this business entities transactions/conduct. One such example was the, Failure to produce documents/invoices in timely manner and/or the deliberate withholding of these documents to gain a strategic advantage, which is a violation of the business and professions code.

President Gregory W. Adler of 4 Wheel Parts Performance Centers/Transamerican Auto Parts Inc. has vehemently denied any wrong doing to date and has stated via the internet that, The customer is number one at 4 Wheel Parts.

However, his statement completely contradicts his companies Nationwide Better Business Bureau Company Reliability Reports of having an Unsatisfactory Performance Record which the report includes the following specifics below:

*Delivery Issues,*Difficulty Obtaining Refunds,*Overcharging,*Poor Installation,
*Poor Customer Service,*Billing Disputes,*Failure to Deliver *Ordered Merchandise *Missing Items, and Incorrect Items.

All of the BBB's Company Reliability Reports on 4WP/Transamerican Auto Parts along with incriminating documents, invoices, etc., can be obtained at the following VERY IMPORANT LINK BELOW:

www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff112163.htm

Furthermore, Mr. Gregory W. Adler's statement of, The Customer is Number 1 is once again contradicted by the 15 Violations issued by the State Agency, Bureau of Automotive Repair.

This is just some of the following State Agencies final report violation subject matter that will be available:

Written False and Misleading Statements etc.

Failure to Provide Written and Revised Signed Estimates etc.

Charging for Items Not Specifically Described etc.

Installation of Non-Calibrated (Zero-Mile) Odometer, installed on factory leased trucks.

Several severe offenses were committed by 4WP; unfortunately no enforcement action was taken, due to the fact that there are no laws/enforcement regulations and/or legislation on the books to date.

The State Investigator audited the annual idler arm sales records between a major GM dealership and 4 Wheel Parts. Service Manager stated (name withheld), That after approximately (600) 1500 series idler arms were sold to 4 Wheel Parts, they began to return them for credit/exchange. Service Manager continued, I know that you are not installing these parts on factory stock trucks, but installing them on trucks with larger wheels and tires that puts a huge strain/wear on these parts causing them to wear prematurely.

Not only am I going to stop crediting you these idler arm parts, I'm going to stop selling them to you altogether. 4 Wheel Parts were purchasing factory stock parts and stating that they were Heavy Duty to handle larger wheels and tires. ANOTHER VIOLATION issued by the State Agency.

10 other violations were issued that were similar in nature.

This 15 violation State Agency report has been brought to you at terrible cost and sacrifice to me. You may obtain a Bureau of Automotive Repair Records Management/Subpoena Unit Form explaining in detail how only your counsel may obtain this very important report at www.autorepair.ca.gov/stdhome.asp or write to:

Please make the necessary contractual changes and/or cease to do business with such companies who seek to obtain huge profit gains at the terrible expense/losses to others and/or hard working business entities.

Companies who retain such lousy Unsatisfactory Performance Records with the Better Business Bureau should not even be considered as business candidates. He who plays in the dirt shall also get dirty as well.

A & A Transmission 11214 Hesperia Rd.92345 (760)948-2713 Took my 1998 Dodge 3500 P.U. truck in for transmission shifting back and forth at 40-50mph. and to have brakes repaired. They said it sounded like a computer valve, Then called to tell me they have to pull the transmission at $975.00 and would be around $1400.00 total, then told me $2400.00 , now they say they need to replace the computer valve $?????? They kept adding to cost of front brakes with new rotters $825.00 For $3225.00 so far , still working on it. Took it to them 10-15-04 I always kept oil changed and transmission never sliped and worked very well except for the shifting problem. They keep trying to get more money from me and its worse than when I took it to them. Please help Mel Anderson 18738 Fairburn st. Hesperia Ca. 92345 760-949-9456

EX-MANAGER REPORTS ON COMPANY TEACHINGS TO THEIR EMPLOYEES OF BAIT AND SWITCH

#22UPDATE Employee

Mon, October 11, 2004

As an ex manager of 4 wheel parts I can agree with about 99.9% of everything this guy has stated about the daily business operations of 4 Wheel Parts. I would like to commend him for giving up so much to get the truth out there, if he helps just one person purchase or be left in the rain after something has gone wrong with their products.

I moved up from just being a sales rep, to assistant manager, to manager in no time by implementing dishonest sales tactics designed to deceive consumers into purchasing Pro Comp Tires and products. I was when selling tires, To simply place our Pro Comp Tires right next to BFG's. The tread design pattern on our tires is nearly identical, so I was taught to tell customers, Look at them both, there is no difference between them whatsoever.

In truth, there is a major difference between the 3rd rate Pro Comp Tires (Cooper Tire Co.) and BF Goodrich Tires. The Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com) on the internet is one of the largest tire sellers in the country, which compares all tires against each other (except for Pro Comp Tires).

I had a huge board in my office depicting monthly gross of $150,00.00 to $175,00.00. We were always pushed to meet or exceed our monthly set goals and that's where a lot of dealership and customer trucks got torn up and damaged. Our monthly lease was over $10,000.00 per month and 4 Wheel Parts had to pay 7% of its monthly gross to the land owner as well. They would pressure me to fudge those numbers as well, making me very uncomfortable and completely liable.

I still remember this short event vividly to this day. All of our stores were to play new music provided directly from the president of the company, Mr. Greg Adler. Immediately my loyal customers began to complain, What the hell is this crap. I replied, I don't have a choice, I gotta play it. It wasn't country music, not even blue-grass music. One customer described it as, Backyard Moonshine Distilling Hillbilly Music. This caused such a disruption among my employees to where they began to poke fun of the company president with jokes such as, He is vertically challenged to they didn't let him on rides at Disneyland when he was in high school that's why he's got the worst case of Little-Man-Syndrome.

In addition, I have contacted this victim of 4 Wheel Parts directly. They have attempted threaten/intimidate Jimmy and he has simply told me that he has turned around and thrown it back in all their faces by stating, Bring It. Jim has also stated to me that 4 Wheel Parts has subscribed him to very offensive magazines subscriptions, when has never held any subscriptions for the last 4 years. This behavior doesn't surprise me as I have heard our top management members use racial slurs all the time.

In closing, Jim has also relayed to me that he does not retain any form of criminal record that my company could use against him, so they have spent even more money by hiring a private detective to go to every police station where Jim h lived before, in order to dig up any dirt as possible.

Since I have worked for this company, I can say that this is common practice for 4 Wheel Parts and I'm just tired of them ripping people off and them being s****.> National Criminal Report

It is you who has "ASSUMED and MISREAD" most of the material in this report and have wasted the the valuable time 10,000 readers who are going to read your rebuttal

WROTE:((((((((Further research shows that the speed rating letter is always part of a larger code. It is written right after the tire size numbers in the same size lettering. The code is a two or three digit number followed by that all important speed rating letter.)))))))))))

You are very correct sir, (EXTRA CREDIT) but guess what? PRO COMP TIRES DONT NOT HAVE THAT (tire size depiction) EITHER ANWHERE, unless it is smaller than the eye can see.

Tire speed ratings... The experts you pay tend to say whatever you want

#22Consumer Comment

Thu, September 16, 2004

Against better judgement, I engage in dialogue with Jimmy...

I saw the word "Denali" which I recognized as GMC's largest SUV (more properly the Yukon Denali) and, er, ASSumed that's what you had.

Then you wrote that "[Pro Comp tires fail] ... speed arc of 100 mph" and again ASSumed that's what happened to yours. You also never said that you were NOT running your Pro Comp's at high speeds, and you get into an extensive investigation of speed ratings. So again I ASSumed you're driving in the 100 mph range, even without a radar gun.

Any sort of truck-based vehicle is inherently unstable at high speed. Especially if it's jacked up with larger than stock tires. I hope you agree it's "F-ING NUTS" to drive one at 100 mph on a public road.

I went out and looked at all my tires; ordinary major brand tires. None of them have anything like "Speed Rating : X" marked on them. Further research shows that the speed rating letter is always part of a larger code. It is written right after the tire size numbers in the same size lettering. The code is a two or three digit number followed by that all important speed rating letter.

The number part encodes the weight rating in an obscure way. Higher numbers do mean higher weight. The weight rating is also shown in plain text elsewhere on the side of the tire. (Is the rating of the Pro Comps compatible with the weight of your truck?)

The speed letter is as your table shows. The tires on my (completely stock) truck say "101Q", so now I know to stay under 99 mph. Not a problem.

The speed/weight coding system ("Service Rating") is a Federal standard, not just an industry convention. If tires aren't so marked, it probably isn't legal to sell them for highway use. The speed rating is based on a simple 10-minute test. You and (allegedly) others have reported that tire failure occurs after "prolonged length of time spent driving in this threshold." So certain cheesy tires may achieve their rating in the government test, but still be no good for real-world use at high speed.

I should have said "aftermarket supercharger" of course. Even among those, one could go with a conservative setup and reasonably expect long engine life (But not as long as with no supercharger, I would venture). It doesn't seem like you'd be satisfied with a conservative setup though.

Excessive silicone is indeed a hallmark of bad mechanics. There are only a few circumstances where it should be used at all, and then very sparingly. So I agree that you did suffer "improper installation." But it's going to be hard to *prove* that was the entire cause of your problem, or even a contributing factor, when there's also an aftermarket supercharger on there. Damage by "detonation" suggests over-supercharging was the primary problem, not lack of oil.

((((((WROTE: cheesy no-name tires that are sold for off-road use, First he's F-ING NUTS to drive a Denali at 100+ mph on the freeway))))))))

Actually 4 Wheel Parts pushed these PRO COMP tires on to me and made gross performance misrepresentations directly stating that they were identical to BFG's....(not so hon-solo).

As them being for off-road use only, not true. YOU can clearly see by the photograph that these tires are ALL TERRAIN TIRES, they don't have big nobbies on them.

You also stated that I'm F-ING NUTS to drive a Denali at 100+ mph on the freeway, well I don't own a DENALI, SECOND DID YOU SEE ME engage WARP DRIVE and/or do you have LIDAR (LASER/RADAR GUN)?

I took my truck to an independent ASE facility for a second opinion and they stated that these PRO COMP tires were indeed DEFECTIVE, which caused my vehicle to drift SEVERELY towards one way of the road after I had my brand new truck aligned.

One tire even developed a tiny bulge in the tire tread.

4 wheel Parts refused to refund and/or replace my 12K tires even though I had purchased their pushed upon, "No questions asked $100.00 tire warranty. "

They stated, "Unless the tire has visible damage, we cannot/will not warranty it. Funny, that's not what they said when they sold me their tire warranty, "If anything goes wrong with the tire, we will replace it for free, again saying no questiones asked."

Having college research drilled into my brain, I began to research these tires and found that there are industry set standards:

N 87 mph 140 km/h Temporary Spare Tires

P 93 mph 150 km/h

Q 99 mph 160 km/h Studless & Studdable Winter Tires

R 106 mph 170 km/h H.D. Light Truck Tires

S 112 mph 180 km/h Family Sedans & Vans

T 118 mph 190 km/h Family Sedans & Vans

U 124 mph 200 km/h

H 130 mph 210 km/h Sport Sedans & Coupes

V 149 mph 240 km/h Sport Sedans, Coupes & Sports Cars

Wouldn't you know it, what is posted on these PRO COMP tires isn't THE INDUSTRY STANDARD. These tires depicted "LOAD RANGE "D" on them, but all 4 tires were missing the the industry standard MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TIRE SPEED LETTER, nowhere to be seen/found with the naked eye.

A VERY COSTLY INDEPENDENT FAILURE ANALYSIS WAS CONDUCTED ON THE WORST TIRE OUT OF THE (4). RESULTS REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL, but if someone is very intelligent and reads this document over a couple of times, they'll figure out.

((((((((WROTE: By the way, having a mag wheel for the SPARE TIRE seems rather obsessive.))))))))

I think you mean EXCESSIVE, don't you? like blowing money excessively.

((((((((WROTE: Almost any engine equipped with a supercharger is prone to "grenade" if pushed too far. Until you've done that a few times though you won't know how far you can push it. If the oil pressure gauge is showing full normal pressure, the oil pump is doing all that it can.)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I disagree on a couple of facts. First, you missed the part that mechanics wrote up, "Installation Silicone" clogged oil pick up filter screen and other parts of the motor at 5,811 miles.

SECOND: You are talking about old technology from the DINO ERA. FORD, MERCEDEZ BENZ, Mini Cooper, NISSAN and many other AUTO MANUFACTURES sell Supercharged cars right out of the showroom with 3/50,000 warranties EX: New COBRA Mustang.........the technology has been perfected over the years making them very reliable. The "MAGNA" aka MAGNASUN system, which is used by many AUTO manufactures has its own self contained oil similar to a differentials that doesn't need to be changed for about 75,000 miles. This system only BOOSTS 4-6 lb and is designed to last the life of the vehicle.

Denali...100mph ?!

#22Consumer Comment

Wed, September 15, 2004

OK I'll bite here. Notice that I am NOT defending the company in question, but I wonder about Jimmy.

First he's F-ING NUTS to drive a Denali at 100+ mph on the freeway. I hope that no innocent people get caught in the path as he hurtles toward Darwinian destiny.

He does this on cheesy no-name tires that are sold for off-road use. And wonders why said tires fall apart. By the way, having a mag wheel for the SPARE TIRE seems rather obsessive.

Warranties that cost extra are ALWAYS a rip off. No one is going to give much warranty on high-performance parts. Everyone knows that people buy these parts in order to abuse them. When they fail, that is an excuse to buy even more expensive, higher performance parts next time.

Almost any engine equipped with a supercharger is prone to "grenade" if pushed too far. Until you've done that a few times though you won't know how far you can push it. If the oil pressure gauge is showing full normal pressure, the oil pump is doing all that it can.

It isn't illegal to replace the odometer with one that shows fewer miles. It is illegal to lie about the actual mileage. The owner has to tell everyone concerned that the actual miles are more than the odometer shows. The DMV may have a form for that.

The word "unsatisfactory" does not appear in the BBB report. However, they do state that there are "unanswered complaints," which used to be the criteria for an unsatisfactory rating. Trust the BBB as far as you can throw it. If the BBB says anything bad about a company, it's a REALLY bad company.

ONGOING PRO COMP TIRE PROBLEMS, WHICH 4 WHEEL PARTS OWNS THE TIRE NAME/COMPANY

#22Author of original report

Fri, August 27, 2004

I have problems with Pro Comp Tires.

One of my tires even developed a tiny bulge in it.

4 wheel Parts refused to refund and/or replace my tires (12,000 mile) even though I had purchased their $100.00 tire warranty that they pushed on to me. They basically said, "If there isn't a tear/damage in the tire, we won't replace it"

I took my truck to an independent ASE facility and they stated that these PRO COMP tires were indeed DEFECTIVE and caused my vehicle to drift SEVERELY twards one way of the road after I had my brand new truck aligned.

4 Wheel Parts is owned/operated by Trans American Auto Parts who also owns/operates

PRO COMP TIRES. (more info at the end)

So, I took the following actions that gets a corporation into trouble, which really upset them.

I decided to look their Company Reliability Report on the Better Business Bureau website located at www.labbb.org. It stated the following below:

4 wheel Parts has an "Unsatisfactory Record" with the Better Business Bureau when it comes to answering consumer complaints along with the following below:

*Delivery Issues

*Difficulty obtaining Refunds

*Overcharging:

*Poor Installation:

*Poor Customer Service

*Billing Disputes

*Failure to Deliver Ordered Merchandise /Missing Items/Incorrect Items

All this can be verified by obtaining a company reliability report from the Better Business Bureau at www.labbb.org/

If I had read the BBB reliability report on 4 wheel parts or somebody would have warned me, I would have not have spent $15,000.00 at their store.

If an "Improper installation and/or fraud" has been made upon your vehicle, for best results (first) file/send a report to the following (3) State/local agencies set up to help you below on the internet.

ww.badbusinessbureau.com

ww.autorepair.ca.go

ww.bbb.org

Then immediately mail a copy complaint to the Bureau of Automotive Repair and the District Attorney's Consumer Protection Division for your State listed below:

Bureau of Automotive Repair (Main Office)

400 R Street, Suite 520

Sacramento, CA 95814

916-322-3333

Orange County District Attorney

Consumer Protection Division

401 Civic Center Drive

Santa Ana, CA 92701

Consumer Protection Division

Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office

201 North Figueroa St., Suite 1600

Los Angeles, CA 90012

An Independent investigation/study will be underway in the future to determine why these tires failed prematurely. A preliminary investigation of consumer complaints into this failure has pointed to the speed arc of 100 mph.

Any prolonged length of time spent driving in this threshold has resulted in consumer complaints of tires developing mild tire pulls, SEVERE tire pulls, and tire bulges/wobbles felt in the steering wheel.

One of the tires will be sent away for idependent laboratory analysis stating exactly why it failed prematurely at only 12,000 miles and why it developed an tiny bulge in it. This independent laboratory analysis may even cost up to $1,000.00.

If your PRO COMP tires have developed, "Tire Pulls" you should have them replaced. Many consumers have emailed me telling me that they have wasted their money on alignments that wont align thinking that they have bent some part on their suspension.
