I had filled out an application at 500fastcash.com for a short term personal loan. The website stated that I could have the cash in an hour. I need the cash desperately, as my car had broken down and was in need of quick repair.

Shortly after filling out the application, a woman from 500 Fast Cash called me on the phone and informed me I was approved for the loan and it would be deposited in my account in about 48 hours. I told the agent to nevermind, I needed the money the same day, as their website advertised. She told me it was impossible to deposit the money the same day. I told her I would go elsewhere and told her absolutely to not deposit the money. She then told me I should just take the money and do something nice for myself.

We went back and forth on this for some time before I felt comfortable that she understood I did not want to go forward with the loan. We never even discussed the terms of the loan, because I did not want to accept it. I did not, at that time, even know what bank she was calling from.

Well, a couple of days later, I noticed the money was deposited into my account anyhow. I tried to contact the company several times via their email. I was not able to find a phone number. My emails were not returned. After really digging through the website, I was able to find a 1800 number. The man I spoke with at that number informed me that I was not calling into the bank, I was calling into a call center and he could not help me. I told him that they were taking money from my account, so he'd better give me some sort of information. He explained that 500fastcash.com was not a lender, they only find lenders for the people who use the site.

After several more questions, I was able to get him to tell me that 500 Fast Cash (the same name? what a coincidence) was the lender, but that was a different institution than the call center I had called into.

Because of the holiday weekend, I have not been in touch with the lender. I will try again today and update as new information becomes available. I really do not believe I will be able to resolve this issue any time soon.
