I wanted to adopt a Rottweiler puppy and contacted 57 house because they posted a picture of an adorable mixed breed Rottie/Lab waiting to be adopted. I spoke with Jason, paid my money and filled out paperwork that was generic, which I thought was odd in the adoption process . Most times when you adopt a pet it iOS a lengthy process where you need to provide references and prove that you can monetarily provide for the animal you are adopting...not one question. Jason gave me the same neighbor story... His neighbor's dog, a Rottweiler mistakenly bred with a Labrador...endearing.. And my Sofi was the last puppy left. I paid my money and she made her way here. I was told by Jason that Sofi was 8 wks old. My vet thinks she is approximately a month younger than what I was told when I received her. Oddly, poor Sofi was eating dry food by then...4 weeks old... And had SEVERE good aggression...she still does. Try having a curious 4 year old that can't go near the dog when she eats for fear of getting bit. The dog also growls at unsual times, so I'm constantly worried about my daughter playing with her. Jason assured me that he knew the parents and the Rottweiler especially was a gentle dog... So I've spent a considerable amount of money (thousands), on trainers and doggy daycare, and dog walkers, and socialization classes to help Sofi with anxieties, fear, aggression, etc. Also, Sofi has an inexplicable skin rash since she's come here. I've changed her food, shampooed her with prescription shampoo (not cheap), Benadryl, you name it...the itches cause big scabs on her skin and little scars... The dog is suffering... That's on top of a weird hacking Asthmatic like coughing fit she gets.

Im not sure if all of these are to be expected with shelter pets but a friend of mine got puppy from North Shore and the dog is as healthy and beautiful as can be. I'm going to work with and nurse my Sofi as best I can...she's here for a reason...and when she sticks so close to me her head goes in between my legs...I know that someone did her wrong...God gave her to me to help make it better. Jason should be ashamed of himself for abusing animals this way.

57 House- How are these people not in jail

After reading other people's accounts I feel awful but relieved that so many pets went to loving families. The fact that these animals- "Jason" and his "family " are still functioning is obscene. I would love to have these people put away and mistreated the way our pets were. If anyone would like to get together to try to figure out a way- please let me know.
