6/45 Mega Millions sent me a letter on Dec 09 2006.The letter said that I was among 126 finalists, from a pool of $70,000,000.00. My numbers has been approved for a lump sum of: $175,000.00.Then I was advised to keep this money absolutely confidential until my money has been confirmed, and money is remitted to me. The check enclosed for ($3,980.00) is for the insurance/processing charge. Then, the letter said that before I go to deposit the check, I was required to contact LISA MARTINS or TIMOTHY MOBLEY at : 1-647-831-2405. So, I called  the number listed. The operator told me that number was (NO) (GOOD). At least the operator told me the area code was in: (Ontario  Canada). THE  CHECK  LOOKS  SO REAL.!!!  It  was a (CASHIER'S  CHECK )  made  out  from: (FIFTH THIRD BANK). Fifth Third Bank, is suppose to be from: (Kentucky,Inc. Lexington, KY )

What do  I  do  with  this  letter  and  so-called  check?

Same crap as a guy from Colorado complained about in another report here. He got 2 several years apart and claimed he was still paying for the first one. But now seems to be pondering if this one is somehow real!
Some people never seem to learn. If you never entered a contest, as in his case, how exactly do you win?
I'm still working on that one.

Do NOT cash the check!!!  It is MOST Likely a SCAM.  If you Deposit it, you could find yourself out of alot of money.  Do a little research on this site or on the web.  There are plenty of instances where people have received these types of checks for so-called lotteries and so-called winnings. Some have been fortunate and discovered they are scams and others haven't so fotunate have been taken and scammed.

Moral of the story is...If you didn't enter the lottery then it's a scam!!!! BEWARE!!!! Don't be another statistic...

If you could get in touch with them by phone you would have been instructed to deposit the check and then send by wire transfer most/all of the check money to various people for fake insurance/processing fees.  Ultimately the check would bounce, leaving you responsible for paying the bank back the full amount.  More than likely the phone number is no good because the heat was coming down on their operation.

If you want to do more research the net is full of scams like this, you can google them up pretty easily.  You can also google up the names of the scammers or the organization they say they are from, you probably will find complaints on them too.  If they are using the name of a real lottery then the lottery will have customer service numbers you can call to check on this, and they probably will have a page on their site about this scam.  I believe Fifth Third bank is a real bank, but the check you have is either forged, stolen, or from a closed account.

Talk openly with your local bank manager and get their advice/counsel on cashing the check.  Don't just deposit it, it could lead to legal trouble for you if they think you knowingly were passing a bad check.  And whatever you do, do NOT send strangers money by wire transfer.  You may as well kiss the money goodbye.

Good luck!

Well, I see that you have done absolutely no research on this, so...why don't you just stick them where the sun don't shine.
