So my husband is a mechanic and is very busy throughout the day of course. One week he received acouple persistant sales calls about some magazines. He told me that he just wanted them to stop calling and the magazines sounded like an okay deal so he agreed to subscribe. I was furious when we got the bill. It was for $700+. My husband said it was okay b/c the sales rep told him he could cancel at anytime.

I called to do so and was told that I couldn't. The manager got on the phone and told me that my husband had signed a contract and that they had recorded the conversation also. I work for an ad firm where we record some conversations also so I know that if it is recorded it can be emailed digitally. I told the manager that I wanted to hear the recording. That is when he got ugly.

He started yelling and telling me that I need to just pay my bills and that since I was so dumb he was going to turn the account over to his legal people.

So I of course filed a BBB report and of course there are several reports on there not the mention the previous rip off reports. I faxed the company (poor excuse for a company) a copy of the BBB report and a signed cancellation notice. That was about a week ago and we haven't heard a word back. I hope we never do.

If we do receive any more OUT DATED magazines I am going to put them all in a box and send them straight to there office with a heeping pile of dog crap right on top.

As far as any "legal people" that may want to contact us and make threats go for it. I have already contacted a lawyer in case you think you are slick.

Class Action Suit

I'm really starting to think we need to all get in on a Class Action Suit. I also filed a complaint with the BBB and they managed to send back a letter to them not even going over their apparent "No Credit Reporting" policy. It was stated to us when we first signed up for this that it would be reported. About 6 months later, they changed it around and said that they don't. I have 4 kids, I don't have time to read magazines. The only reason why we did this was for the credit reporting.

Talk about fraud here. At least that's how the State of Wisconsin is looking at it. Yes, I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office as well.

I have been dealing with the same situation with 716. I am curious what the outcome was? Have they contacted you and actually pursued taking you to court?
