On March 21st I bought a set of custom cufflinks and two buttons from 77industries.com. I paid $14 including shipping using PayPal.

The clearly marked shipping instructions said it would take 2 weeks for the merchandise to be shipped (I assumed because they needed to be made). That was fine with me.

The two week period passed and no confirmation of shipment was sent.

Because I had known the owner of this one person button factory from online blogs and myspace, I decided to give her some time. I heard she was moving and thought that she may need a few more weeks.

When it seemed she forgot the order, I emailed her on May 22nd, 2006 with a copy of the paypal receipt that her store generated. She apologized and said she would look into it. She never did.

On July 19th, 2006 I emailed her again with a copy of the receipt and changed the subject line to "ORDERED MARCH 21ST" followed by the regular paypal "Receipt for Your Payment to 77 Industries".

This time I suggested that she could either ship or refund my money. Here is that email.

"Hi Corrine,

It's been a while since you've done any blogging on myspace. I imagine things are pretty busy during summer dinner cruise time.

I'm not sure what happened to my button and cufflink order that was made back in March. I really enjoyed reading your blog and hearing what was going on in your life. Through your stories, it seemed like you are a fun-loving good person. That's one of the reasons I ordered through your company.

Please respond. What can we do to get this out of the way? Please tell me when you will ship or refund the cash. If the order is too small to make because you have retail stores to stock, I understand. But, please refund the money then.

I hate the way this email sounds after I wrote it, but I did pay for merchandise.

She sent no reply to that email.

I have seen her on myspace a few times since and each time I send her a note asking if things are alright and if she had a chance to ship my product or give me a refund. She has twice over the entire time said she would check into it, but never has done anything about it.

DO NOT BUY FROM HER STORE! SHE TOOK MY MONEY AND NEVER SENT PRODUCT.

Just a heads up that eventually, long after this report was made and forgotten about, she did ship the items which were exactly as described on the website.

Hopefully, things worked out from that emergency, and best wishes!

I apologize for not sending the cufflinks to the buyer. I would like to refund the person their money in full.  This was quite a few years back, at the time I had a life emergency and was simply unable to keep up with all orders of a booming internet business.
