I ordered flowers for my Mom, for Mother's Day, on May 4, 2011.  Delivery was GUARANTEED for Friday, May 6th...assuming there were no catastrophes.

Friday comes and goes and no delivery.  The FLORIST calls - not 1-800flowers.com - and says the flowers will arrive no later than 7PM on Saturday.  No flowers come.  So much for GUARANTEED delivery.

When you call customer service, of course, you get someone in the Philippines.  And, the lady said, "There are no flowers available in your area."

How many instances of taking someone's money and not delivering as promised does it take before it constitutes theft or fraud? I don't know, I'm not a district attorney.

Interestingly, when you put in "1-800flowers.com complaints" in Google, it comes up with "310,000 results."

Needless to say, no flowers for Mom.

Oh, here is the promise on the corporate website:

"So if you OR the person who received your gift calls us with any sort of issue, it's a big deal to us. All of us. And we'll jump to make it right -- no matter what, no questions asked. We're happy when you're smiling."

Guess what.  They did ask questions.  They did make excuses.  And, they did NOT MAKE IT RIGHT.

Jim McCann, how do you send flowers to YOUR Mom on Mother's Day? What service do you use so I can be certain my mother gets her flowers in the future? Please, don't hold out on us.
