Beware of this company coming out to your house and inspecting your roof and convincing you to sign an insurance repair agreement.  The company has every intention of spending all your insurance money that you rightfully have paid your premiums.  You handle your claim yourself.  Checks made out to yourself.  Get a written contract and do not show them the scope of loss.  The company should write up their own bid and the scope of loss from the insurance company will provide you the guide to make a decision on the particular job you need done.  800NewLook subcontracts their work.  The roofers get paid whatever they have agreed to with the company.

They are into the insurance claim business instead of roofing business.  This way they have this belief that they can claim all the insurance money.  State Farm will not allow this to happen.  DO NOT let them discuss anything at all with your insurance company or mortgage company.  You handle your own contract, your payment when the job is completed.  The Attorney General's Office will advise you the same advice.  Notify your insurance company and mortgage if you have to go through your mortgage.  You will know that you have a contract with your mortgage company if you have property damage.  Do not let them influence you in any way.  Get another bid.  Do not sign any insurance repair agreement. If you do, you have 3 days in MI to cancel.

New Roof Fails To Meet Building Codes

#2Author of original report

Fri, August 19, 2011

800 new look fails again.  My roof was pushed back 1 time.  It was installed on July 15, 16 , 2011.  There was no supervisor on site either days.  Now I have a roof violations and other code violations from the building inspector which came on August 2,2011.  Nothing has been done to satisfy either the homeowner or the city.  I have 2 wet places from the roof leaking due to lack of finishing the flashing on the roof in two places and I need to have the front of the house ripped off due to lack of or no ice and water shield. There are other problems with it as well. They have failed to install insulation which was part of the contract. So I encourage you NOT to even get an estimate or talk to them at all.  They are in the insurance business and want all checks made to them. In my case that did not happen.  Their work is very sloppy and the office is ridculous.  The salesman will promise you anything.  Do not show them your scope of loss.  If you must talk to them, make them fill out their own bid.  This is good advice regardless who you hire.
