888GeekHelp Ripoff Dangerously bad advice Internet
Mcafee Virus Scan reported that 215 files were infected with the W95/CTX virus.
Having had poor luck with Mcafee support in the past I called 888GeekHelp.
The first guy that answered said he's busy, can he call me back in a few minutes.
After an hour I call back and get a girl, who tells me there's nothing I can do, that I must format my drive and reinstall my operating system!
Not willing to believe this (hoping it wasn't true) I call Mcafee and pay their support folks $24.95 to tell me that it's a false alarm, their latest VirusScan build is broken, ignore it, it will be fixed in the next release!
If I had believed 888GeekHelp and rebuilt this system for nothing I would be stark raving furious!
DO NOT trust these people!
