Many years ago I used Mayflower for my move from N.J. to Fl. A perfect move & through the years I recommended Mayflower to Family & friends.

I just went through a Move From Hell from one of their Agents in Florida, on January 4th, 2007, who kept assuring me I was using Mayflower & their invoices & truck read Mayflower.

These Agents are nothing but out & out thieves. The price doubled when I arrived, except for my car, but the roof was dented & the Drivers side window no longer went down.

I came from a small one bedroom apt. in Fl. to a small one bedroom apt. No Couch, Dining Room or Box Spring & Mattress. The largest furniture was an Armoire that folded down on a medium, two drawer, low chest.

When the truck arrived, the driver stood over me & said that I had 9,000 pounds? It couldn't have been the weight of my car also as that was a price by itself & was going on another type of truck. I didn't make an issue when they gave me a much higher price when I went to get a Cashiers Check, as they requested. There was no way I could have had such weight, not even 6,000 lbs.

I soon found out why so many boxes & weight. They filled boxes with heavy white paper, 6 & 7 large sheets around 2 light bulbs or 2 juice glasses & only filled 1/4 of box with my belongings & the rest of box with with the heavy paper. Brought in the few pieces of furniture last & put them ontop of the boxes. So many boxes that it covered all the floor & couldn't walk past.
Two antique clock broken, drawer pull missing from antique dry sink, etc., etc. Everything was either broken, chipped or dented. The only things that were safe were in the three boxes I packed with newspaper & one sheet per item.

My narrow closet now has a smashed mirror on front. I can go on & on. but the owner Alex won't get on the phone with me, his Secretary hung up on me & all I wanted to tell him that my items were rifled through & lots missing, even from the boxes that I packed & sealed, where different tape was used to reseal. His girl said he will give me $60. What a joke! I have pictures of the amount & packaging of light bulbs & glasses & the weight of boxes just with the paper in them.

Everything these people before me wrote is absolutely true. These Companies have been getting away so long, that a Consumer has a very hard time trusting any of them again. I did my homework & got taken anyway.
