Months ago I got hooked up with A-1 Leasing through another Company Called the Journey.

The Journey was to assist me in this course they offered to eventually after a three year period sell merchandise on line. I was scared but, I needed something to do and they were very pushy about it, stating this was my only chance.

When I finally agreed after being on the phone for many hours,I was transfered to A-1 Leasing there and then. I signed in a couple places agreeing to certian terms.

When the paperwork was in my hand, it looked as though I had signed in many places. They transfered my initials. I was not pleased of course, but I bit my tounge it was too late.

I was actually enjoying the bookwork,CD's and on-line stuff. A-1 sent me the cheepest laptop sold in Radio Shack to use for more than 3 years taking the course.

There were phone conferences during the evening. Guest speakers to teach and guide. I set time aside for these. There was 24-7 help on line. Both of these tools were not usable, and when I realized this, I came here to Rip-Off, read what others had written, called Journey and advised them I quit.

A-1 Leasing Harrassing

I have recieved more letters from Greenspan&Douglas Inc. which claim to be representing A-1 Leasing. They had a private eye locate me that only had to look in the phone book and he of course had no clue as to why these people were looking for me.

My last call was them trying to get me to pay over 13grand. I informed them it would have been cheeper on me to just let them scam me for 8grand. He claimed no one had ever told him about the 8grand fee over the 3-4 yr. period. For the second time they insisted on comparing this lease to a lease of purchasing a car.

Also they finally would recognize the relationship between them and Start-up Essentials but, blaim it all on Start-up calling them fast talking sales people. No mention of court in this conversation by them, instead they opted to threaten me by saying if I ever went to work they would see my social security number in action then take from my wages.

If I ever purchased anything of value they would put a lein on it. He offered to get A-1 Leasing to accept a settlement from me for only 25hundred because I sound like such a nice person. I stated I would rather cut my throat or go to jail than give them a penny.

I would be waiting for the sherrif to hand me a summons to appear in court and they better hope they get a crooked judge to be on their side.

Start-up Essentials/A-1 Leasing

I had closed my bank account quite quickly so these people could not get to it. I believed the managed to get $146.00 months ago. Well they had a private eye called me to give me a number to call(my names listed and they have my number). I called because the private eye had no idea what it was about, I needed to know. I phoned 1-800-380-4420 Ext.107 for a Jim Douglas, he is an attorney for A-1 (which by the way he says is not affiliated with Start up essentials or the Journey).
It would have cost me almost $8000 for the support and the computor and software over a period of 4 years. My letter from them today quotes $13916.52 and that would be just for the laptop which you can buy at Radioshack for $600.00. Jim Douglas told me that the laptop is not worth a penny now that it's been used and they care not that it's returned.
There is no reasoning with these people because if you try to state why you want to end your agreement with them they raise their voice or say you are being rude and crossing a line. They then start with threats about lawyers, court in Michigan and your credit line being destroyed.
I do hope that they cannot get away with getting on our credit reports and hauling us into court. HELP!
