Complaint Review: A-Best Remodeling

A-Best Remodeling Go to the others. Los Angeles, California

We had A-Best Remodeling build a free standing art studio a few years
ago (to the tune of over $60,000).  They did not build to the plans and
we were told "plans are good to have but you cannot always go by them."
What!?!?  Really?!?!  So we were short-changed on square footage
because they couldn't follow plans.  Of course, we had paid them to draw
up the plan that was approved.  The framers quality was suspect and
they were rude to our neighbors.   Since it was a few years ago, I have

forgotten all of the list of things that went wrong (have since sold the
house) but it was a very stressful experience.  We sent a letter to the
owner after the job was completed (and they were paid in full)
outlining our concerns (since we had been ignored udirng the process)
and we NEVER heard one thing from them.  In this business climate, there
are others who will do a better job with your hard earned money.

Blogger Claims "We had A-Best Remodeling build a free standing art studio a few years ago (to the tune of over $60,000)"

Rebuttal - We have never built a free standing art studio. We do not have such a contract in our record.

Blogger Claims "They did not build to the plans and we were told "plans are good to have but you cannot always go by them."

Rebuttal - A set of plans is something that gets approved by the department of building and safety and is closely followed by inspection based on completion of each building stage. If a structure is built not according to plans, two things would have happened.

1. Inspector will request a change to be done to the approved plans

2. Inspector will request that a correction will be made to meet the approved plans

Simpley building anything other than what has been approved is impossible without remifications
