Complaint Review: A-Blue Knight Inc. A Eastern Connection Autotrail

We went to the yellow pages to find a auto transporter on June 7,2010. Saw that they were licensed and a local company. We needed the car shipped as fast as possible for my daughter who was moving to California. They took my checking acct number and debited $905 immediately. When the car was suppose to be picked up it was delayed and the pick up person said the car was not on his list. If we wanted to cancel the contract it would cost $250  Finally 5 days later the car was picked up.We were told it would take 10-12 business days. This fit into the schedule. After a few days we called to find out if and when the car went out. We were told there was a delay. The truck broke down, and then the next call a few days after that, the driver had a problem. Greg the owner promised that they would make up the time and that there were going to be 2 drivers to drive 24 hours. My daughter called from California,and was told that the car was going to first be sent out after July 4th holiday. Well,after doing some research and  finding out all the complaints about this company. I called them on July5, but had to call back the next day, demanding to know where my car was. I was told it was going to be shipped out that day. I told them I wanted the car.  I was told I had to fax over a cancellation letter and then they would release the car. I did, I would rather lose the $250 than the car. I was told to get in contact with the guy who picked up the car in June. Found out that the car was about 30 miles from my home .It was sitting with 2 other cars from the same company also waiting to go to California. It was in a dirty weed filled lot behind some refrigeration company in Kings Park. Long Island. I finally signed for the car and got it back. I reported them to the BBB in NY and found out from BBB that the attorney general has a filed a court order against them. I had to hire another company for $1000. no money up front. to transport the car out to California.

This company is a rip off and scam people of their hard earned money.They should be shut down. There should be tighter control about companies like this.
