Way back in December, 2015, I placed an ad in Craigslist looking for a programmer proficient with Drupal and Ubercart. I received a few responses, and Justin Currie, of A Catch Above The Rest seemed to be the most competent of the bunch, and so I selected him to re-theme my website and do some programming changes. He only asked $50 for this, which seemed low, but he said he was price matching an offer I had from someone else.

Time went on, and nothing seemed to happen. Justin was sluggish in responding to my messages .but he claimed everything from moving to a death in the family was keeping him from doing the jog. Also during this time he offered to perform maintenance on the site for 6 months for $100. I paid this, thinking it might motivate him to finish the original work faster. This would have been around February or March.

April rolls around and nothing. I initiated a Paypal dispute, but some pleading from Justin and I dropped it as resolved. Probably not so smart on my part.

June and I get an email that he will refund me and it's not fair for me to have to wait, but that I'll have my money in 3-4 days. Nope, that didn't happen either.

I'm a forgiving sort, so I just move on. Then in August, I send Justin an email about an issue I was having on the website and asking him if he had time to work on it. He assured me it was a 1-day job, and that for $50 he could do it. So silly me, I pay him, via Paypal Friends and Family.

Two weeks later the job is not done,. there's no evidence he even working on it, as I changed the password to the site last week, which if he was actually doing the work, he'd have to have the password at some point.

If he's that d**n busy, maybe he need not take on more work. If he's just scamming people, well, that's what this site if for. Either way, you're likely not to be happy with A Catch Above The Rest.

Note: I have the scans of the “contract” I signed so if Mr. Currie tries the “I've never had this customer” and blares out supposed good reviews...well, all I can say is take your chances then if you believe him.
