I purchased a 29 cubic ft Hot Point/ GE side by side Refrigerator from Home Depot 2 or 3 yrs ago, on 10/27/2010 we woke up to water all over our kitchen floor, there was no cold air in the frig, everything was ruined. we called home depot & we had the extended service warranty, so we called A&E our appointment was 11/04/2010 from 1 pm to 5 pm, the repairman came checked the refrigerator out & called his manager to inform him the condenser & the total electrical unit in the back was burnt up, it was best to replace completely replace the refrigerator, the manager refused told him to order the parts & fix it, now 2 things you can't live without is a toilet & a refrigerator, so we bought a small one for $100 loss $575 worth of food. He made an appointment to come back & fix it on 11/16/2010 1 pm. to 5 pm at 3 he called he had been over booked & couldn't get here until 6:30 pm & it was a 2 hr job, that made it about 8:30 pm to 9 pm then an hour & a half home for him, he told us he could come 11/17/2010 he would be 30 minutes from our home but call A&E & schedule, my husband called explained the situation the woman said ok let me reschedule, she came back & said you are scheduled for 11/26/2010, My husband stated that is not acceptable she said he cannot come tomorrow, it is not except able we have been 2 weeks without a refrigerator, & we have 30 people for Thanksgiving & it will have to be tomorrow, she sorry for your luck & hung up. I called the repair man that apologized & said he would still come, I said no its the principle behind the rude treatment we received, he gave me another number, 800-888-266-6560, it was Sears & I spoke to Michael, he could take the customer complaint Case #18429403 but not help me, if I'd called him first he would have taken care of it, I was given another A&E# 800-423-3830 Where I talked to Kadaz I told him the problem & he said he'd get his manager & I was on hold for 4min 56 sec  Dashay  Whom I told her the situation, the 26th is unacceptable, I want my refrigerator fixed tomorrow or a brand new refrigerator delivered here before the day was over.  She informed me if that repair man came to my home & repaired my refrigerator after 5:30 or tomorrow his job would be terminated.  I said just because the man felt bad because your company over booked him & he was unable to make it here after 5:30 he was fired working on his own time, yes if he comes any day other than 11/26/2010 he is fired yes mam.  She informed me that I had two choices either find a repair man around here pay him wait 1 to 2 months to be reimbursed for the work which by the way is $600 & this is the holidays, I can't afford to wait until January to be reimbursed for something by A&E who apparently are quite crooked, I live in a town that is so small we have 1 real grocery store, no repair people, if we did why would we have purchased the extended warranty?  I told her no it would not happen that way she put me on hold said it would be 3 to 5 minutes she returned to the phone 8 mins. & 15 secs. Later not 3 or 5. 8 mins 15 secs.  To inform me that I had no choice wait until the 26th or get it fixed myself.  I told her absolutely not, I asked her for her name & number asked her 4 times she finally answered  800-309-5753, her name was Deshay said you see what you can do & call me back in an hour no answer.  I told her I have been 2 weeks without a refrigerator I lost over $575 worth of food & had to purchase a small refrigerator to help us get by for 2 weeks now I have 5 of my kids coming in on 11/24/2010 staying until 11/30/2010 plus the 5 of us that already live here, & thirty people that would be here on Thanksgiving expecting to be fed, I have a very small frig & we havent even had ice for 2 weeks.  I can't feed the 5 of us let alone 30 people using the refrigerator I have, I can't feed the 10 of us daily from that frig for 7 days they promised my refrigerator would be fixed I expect it to be fix, it was their fault that he was over scheduled wasn't the repair mans fault it was theirs, I want it fixed tomorrow or replaced ASAP. I said mam did you understand what I said, excuse me mam?  I said that 6 times she never responded she had also hung up.  These people want us to pay them for this extended warranty but they don't want to live up to this warranty.  I also called Home Depot  & spoke to Michael at 877-843-3777 option 4 he gave me case #18430561, he took my information & gave me the # 866-369-1178 he said to have the repair man call them & tell them that there was no cooling event we he got to the refrigerator, there was no air circulating nothing the frig just died.  by the time I was given the last # it was 5 pm eastern standard time & these people were closed, I called our repair man Ken at 513-633-5450, he didn't answer but my husband told him that he needed to call this number tell them there was no cooling event at the time of repair,  that my electrical unit & the condenser were shot, the refrigerator needed to be replaced immediately, & we should have a refrigerator in 24 hrs because even though I have paid A & E for their services they are refusing to fix my refrigerator.  Is it fair for a person to be expected to go 1 full month during any time of year let alone Thanksgiving without a refrigerator?  Don't buy an extended warranty period, & never buy one that is sold through A & E Factory Warranty Services, they will not fulfill their warranty responsibility, they talk to you as if your stupid, & they hang up on you.  I find this company as a scam just to take your money & their hopes is to not have to fix your appliance.  I seriously hope that Home Depot stop using this company, I wouldn't want my name referred to in the same sentence as A&E they are a shame to the business of Extended warranty.
