After spending $266.70 and more than half a day, I still have a dryer that does not work and a microwave that works intermittantly. The Technician for the dryer claimed he fixed a "loose wire". However, the same afternoon I tried to dry a load of clothes and it got half-way dried and quit. Cannot get it to turn back on. Just like Before he came. The another technician came out (has to be another guy-they don't cross-train, evidently) to work on my microwave. All he could come up with was that I need to unwrap my meat before trying to defrost. Nevermind that I have been defrosting wrapped meat in this microwave for more than a year without difficulty. Nevermind that I can warm up 2 leftovers, and then the microwave refuses to work on the third container. The tech called the Technical Support people for A&E and they said they have no record of problems with the defrost cycle for Whirpool microwaves. So what!?! Maybe mine is the first? Interesting note-I have 2 dryers and one microwave with problems and they are all Whirlpool appliances. Guess I will do another report on Whirlpool.
