A Forever Recovery RECOMMENDED Verified TRUSTED Business REVIEW: A Forever Recovery is 100% dedicated to operating a safe and secure addiction treatment facility that focuses on customer satisfaction. The residential program will continue to improve it's facility and offerings to help clients.
After getting my son out of A Forever Recovery in March of 2009, I read report after report, complaint after complaint until I could not stomach any more. Recently, I decided to revisit what was being reported on the internet regarding A Forever Recovery, hoping to find that the State of Michigan had shut the place down! No, this unscrupulous enterprise is still scamming people & insurance companies. WHAT will it take for the State of Michigan to take these real complaints from real & deceived people, seriously?
Besides the usual problems at this excuse-for-a-treatment center such as: little or no group counseling, dirty conditions, lackadaisical supervision, little goal-setting, the most egregious is the insurance fraud. Before taking our son to Battle Creek, we were "counseled" on the phone where we gave insurance info to the "counselor". We had already contacted someone at my son's employment & told that insurance (Blue Cross) would not cover cost so were very pleasantly surprised to learn during a 2nd call from A Forever Recovery that they would be able to "work with our insurance" and that our cost would be $5,000 for 30-45 day in-patient program. My husband & I wanted him out-of-state to break some relationships & to hopefully enable him to focus better.
We picked our son up from a hospital detox & went straight to the airport to fly him to Battle Creek. There was someone there to meet us & he took our son in their van which was somewhat unsettling. We hoped to drive him to the facility ourselves. The next day, we drove to the facility & asked for a tour. We were greeted with puzzled looks & kept waiting for a while. It was plain to us that we were not expected & not really welcome, Nonetheless, we were given a cursive tour & were concerned to see for ourselves that the facility did NOT measure up to the pictures on the internet but we were there & invested & still upset for & about our son & wanted so badly to get him the help he needed.
We did not know until he came home & started getting checks from Blue Cross that A Forever Recovery put him in de-tox for several days...he was already de-toxed! A Forever Recovery HAS to de-tox you because de-tox is described as a "hospital setting" & then qualifies as "hospital stay" with insurance. According to insurance statements, he was de-toxed or in detox, aka "hospital" several more times. A Forever Recovery was billing Blue Cross for treating him in a hospital...which it clearly was NOT...plus claiming he was in de-tox when he was NOT. I cannot believe HOW fraudulent this outfit is. They WILL get their money...if not from you upfront...they will fraudulently bill y our insurance company. When checks started coming to my son, A Forever Recovery, threatened prosecution if he did not sign & send checks to them. He never filed a single claim with Blue Cross...A Forever Recovery filed bogus claims...EVERY claim they filed for him with Blue Cross was bogus! WHY does the State of Michigan allow this place to continue. They are illegal & immoral taking advantage of parents when they are under tremendous emotional stress & bilking insurance companies.
