I too am a victim of this agency. I took my daughter there last month. We were told that she had scored higher than some of the other individuals that they had seen & needed us to sign a contract right away. Being new to this I went ahead & signed. We were told that the total fee would be $800.00 & that that included her head shot, all photos. We needed to set up a payment schedule in order to do this.

I made arrangements for 3 different payments on 3 different days to be taken out of my bank account. WHAT A MISTAKE! The took the money out on days that I did not authorize & took it all out in one lump sum. They also took the money from my daughters account as we had agreed to split the cost.

I went down there on Thursday of this past week as they had told us that her photos were ready to look at to pick which ones we wanted for her portfolio. Much to my suprise the "Photos" that were in the envelope were actually the proofs that were so small we had to use a magnifying glass to look at them. Raina, who was the lady who also did our orientation & told us how everything worked said " don't forget, it is $25.00 for color photo's & $10.00 for black & white" she then left the room for my daughter & I too look at the photos.

At the time that I signed the contract I was not given a copy of it as we were told that once all the fees had been paid we would then get a copy. I asked for a copy when I was there on Thursday only to be told that the admin office was closed & they did not have a key.

When Raina came back into the room I told her that she had stated in our orientation that the photos were included in the price, she then said that "yes these are your photos", I told her that what she had were the proofs & that any good photographer would know the difference & would also sit with you to help you decide which photo looked good. I then told her that I would not be authorizing any more charges from my account & if they tried I would dispute the charges.

I called on Saturday to talk to the person in charge & was told that they were at a conference until Tuesday of this week at 2. I told them that I wanted a phone call from them & that I wanted all my money refunded as I did not get what I was lead to believe up front. I urge anyone who thinks that this is the place to go, PLEASE DON'T. Any up front company will always give you a copy of your contract, no questions asked.

I have tried several times after this filing to obtain a copy of my contract or someone to refund my money.

The office manager I spoke with stated that there was never a business partner/manager on site. She also wanted to know if I had sent a cancellation letter. I told her that this was the first I had heard that I needed to do that since I never got a copy of my contract.

I am now filing a small claims court action against them. I have also filed a claim with the BBB. The BBB has tried several times to get a response from this organization. They are still waiting to here from A New Concept as they do not return calls or answer their mail.

I have also called the District Attorney's office several times & left messages only to not get a call back.
