I was given an estimate to move Dallas area to LA Calif. of $2,035 for 2 bd.house on April 27, 2004. After the movers had loaded my belongings on truck, they told me the price was now $3,788 because I had more than they thought. They had the list of all of my things so this was not the case. I told them this was not the price they had given me and could not pay this much.

I asked them to return the furniture to the house and that I would have to make other arrangements. They told me that they needed $1,500 to move the furniture back. I then asked them about moving my belongings 1 hr. to north to Sherman to relatives house. They said this 1 hour move would be $2,000. I saw no choice but to get the $ and pay them 1/2 of what they wanted.

I drove to LA and waited for my belongings to be delivered on the delivery date of April 30, or May 1. When my things did not arrive, I called to check and no one knew anything. They just said someone would call me back, which they never did. No one could tell me where my things were.

After 7 days of calling, a rented truck showed up to deliver my furniture. He refused payment of 1/2 money order 1/2 check and said he would only accept money order or cash. He drove away with my things. I got a money order for all I owed and he returned to deliver, if I paid up front. There was only 1 person and I had to help him unload. Nothing was reassembled as was stated in contract. When they loaded from Dallas, they charged extra for 1 flight of stairs but contract says 1st flight of stairs is free. They could have loaded from back as other movers have done, but refused to do so.

This company loaded my belongings on their truck, raised their price, and basically screwed me around by overcharging, ignoring my calls, and not living up to any part of the contract. I felt helpless because they had all my belongings and to get them back I had to pay them what they wanted.

The company should refund me what they overcharged me, and others should be warned not to use this company.
