Complaint Review: A to Z Jewelry Repair

I came to Lokshin Yuriy to fix my wedding ring, it needed to be soldered together in one spot, he checked the ring including all the stones to be mounted properly, fixed it, then put it in the cleaner. All of the sudden he says: "Sapphire is gone! I have no idea how it happened but it came out". We spent over a hour looking for that stone in his dirty untidy shop. Could not find it.

He measured the other stone and notified me that he doesn't have the stone of this size and cannot order it from the supplier. To that I told him that I would contact other jewelers and try to find the stone. Yuriy was very apologetic and told me he would cover the price of the repair service. I contacted the jewelry place that my husband recommended as he talked to the owner and she assured hime that she would be able to help. I made arrangments with her to order a new stone.

Unfortunately we had to order it 3 times as we couldn't find the right color. Meanwhile mr. Lokshin did not make any attempts to contact me. After 1 week I finally had my ring fixed of which I notified Mr. Lokshin immidiately. To this he responded that he found my stone and it was my fault not contacting him. My bill for fixing the ring was $100($90 repair, $10 for 4 round trips to the jeweler) , now Mr. Lokshin does not plan to pay for it. The repair that he performed was estimated to cost $20 by the jeweler that fixed my ring. I would love to reduce the price of the repair by this amount. But still expect Mr. Lokshin to pay the difference as he promised.
