I contracted with  a transport agent to ship 2 vehicles from California to Jacksonville, Fl. for the sum of $1250.00. He was paid in full. I have documentation that he also staed, it would take 4 dyas for transport.
It took 10 days to arrive in Florida. However, on the 8th day, I received a call from the transporter, that I would need to pay them $2,100.00 to deliver the vehicles to me.
I explained I had paid the broker in full. The dispatcher (Mike) said he knew nothing of that transaction, and if I wanted my vehicles back it would cost me $2100.00.
After several phone calls to the broker, whose number had changed, I agreed to pay the $2100 dollars. He insisted that I sign a contract with him that states I would pay him $2100.00 dollars and both vehicles would be returned to me. I refused,
but, told him that I would pay the driver and expected a receipt in exchange
The dispatcher stated he would deliver the cars to me in Florida on Saturday, the 25th between 8-12noon. At noon I called regarding the where abouts of my vehicles, he told me the driver was a little delayed, but, I would have delivery between 5-6P.M.. At 5:45 PM.
I called the dispatcher again, because I had heard nothing. he informed me that he had spoken to the Broker (Bernard Belliger) and they decided to put the vehicles in storage until Monday, the 27th of August.
Because I refused to sign the contract, I had to deposit a cashier check to A Unique Transport's account before they would tell me where my cars were being stored. I have documentation to all of these transactions.
