Reading the rebuttal posted by the Inphonics employee who is "...from the office of the president" of the company, I couldn't help but almost fall out of my chair laughing.

His oh-so-earnest promise of helping the umpteenth customer who has been scamed by this shameless company out of legitimate rebates must be the company's latest version of their standard Bombay-based "customer service" assurance of "escalating this matter to our rebates department for further investigation."

DO WE LOOK THAT STUPID???

To A1 Wireless, Firefly, Inphonic, or whatever name they are using this week, I simply say, Fulfill your rebate obligations in accordance with your advertised/published policies, or SHUT YOUR BUSINESS DOWN. NOW. SHAME ON YOU! STOP RIPPING CONSUMERS OFF!

TRIAL IN ATTORNEY GENERAL'S LAWSUIT AGAINST INPHONIC - WIREFLY SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER

Richard,

First of all, BRAVO!! I loved your post. You addressed precisely what these clowns are attempting to do.

"Jon" from "the office of the president" (and there must be a lot of people working in that office who spend all their time reading the complaints posted on the web about their company -- and this is just one of MANY websites featuring innumerable consumer complaints against InPhonic and all of their affiliates regarding the rebate scam) has certainly changed his rebuttals lately. With respect to the DC Attorney General's lawsuit against InPhonic, Jon appears to have stopped his "bs" about there being "less than 100 rebate-related complaints" received by the AG. My guess is that the "less than 100" have "escalated" into the thousands.

I spoke with the AG's office this morning and was advised that they are still receiving numerous complaints EVERY DAY regarding their rebate lawsuit against InPhonic. They were also extremely interested in finding out who has been saying that the AG has received less than 100 complaints. (JON, if you are reading this, that would be YOU, and I gave them your name and that you indicated that you were "from the president's office." They didn't sound particularly pleased.)

The AG also told me this morning that this trial is scheduled for September.

EVERYONE, please get your complaint to the Attorney General asap so you can be included. Again, this lawsuit is not limited to DC residents. It is on behalf of all consumers in all states who have complained about the rebate scam, rip-off, or whatever you choose to call it.

(As I wrote in my original rip-off report, this has become my mission, and I am posting info on the lawsuit on every consumer website I can find.)
