I am traveling to a wedding so I booked tickets ahead of time.  I just received an email that the airline is changing my flight times.  ALL OF THEM.  Fortunately 3 of the flights aren't an issue.  However, they made it in such a way that I cannot get to my departure flight on time.  They made it FOUR hours earlier.  They also ADDED time to my layover adding a NET of FIVE hours.

I called to see about what I can do.  Nothing.  I have to rebook tickets, thus paying current rates.  I lose my money on the ticket because they were non-refundable tickets AND they have a $200 rebooking fee.  I have to pay $200 to change my ticket from a time where I could travel to a time I canNOT,  And they keep my money and charge double and add hours.  If time is money, I just lost 5 more hours.  Imagine getting paid that by an employer, that's a half day of work.  Why can airlines willy nilly change their flights when people choose times based on what they can do and then CHARGE when the customer can no longer use their services.  We should be charging them A CHANGE in schedule fee.  It isn't right.

AA and United are NOT the same airline and as far as I know do not do any Codeshares.  So had you said one of the airlines changed your schedule..okay possible and actually happens quite often(especially with United).  But for both airlines to change all of your flights..there seems to be something more going on.

Who did you book it through?  Are you sure that the e-mail came from the airlines? Did they change Flight Numbers as well as times or just the times? The reason I say this is because it may not be the airline that did this(even if the e-mail said it was).
