My wife ordered a pair of Swarovski 8.5x42 binoculars for Christmas 2000. She was told that they were on back order. On January 31, 2001 my credit card was charged for the price of the binoculars. On February 22, I called AAA Camera Exchange and they referred me to shipping. I called shipping and they said they would get back to me.

They never got back to me. I called again on 2/23/2001 and was told they would get back to me. I called on 2/28/2001 and was told to expect ith item to be shipped mid March.

Called 3/13/2001 they said the item was on back order expect it at the end of the month. Called 3/23/2001 told item would ship middle of next week. Called 4/6/2001 and was told item was still on back order.

On 7/19/2001 I called AAA Camera Exchange and told them to cancel my order and refund my money. I then called my credit card company and asked them to reverse the charges.

The credit card company then sent me paperwork to start the claim. On 9/4/01 I called Visa and they stated that they were awaiting a response from the merchant's bank. I called AAA on 12/3/2001 and I talked to "Bob"; these people use no last names, and he said he would be sending a check for 1101.08 the amount charged on my credit card. On 12/13/2001 I called Visa; still no response from the merchant's bank.

On 12/13/2001 time 0842MST called AAA and spoke with "Chris", again no last names, and he said he would be sending a check today . 1/6/2002 called in the AM spoke to "Bob"; was put on hold. 1/6/2002; second call, spoke to "Chris" time 1300 EST he said he would check with accounting. 1/9/2002 Spoke to "Chris" and was put on hold. 1/16/02 1304 EST called asked for "Chris" told he would be back in 20 minutes. 1/16/2002 1335 EST TALKED TO "Chris" he said toe check had been mailed.

1/23/02 no check has been, called AAA Camera Exchange spoke with "Bob" and he said I had to speak with "Chris", but,"Chris" would not be in until 1/25/2002. !/24/2002 12PM MST Called customer service spoke to "Mike", again he said the check had been mailed on 1/9/2002.

Called 2/1/02 no answer. Well here I sit on 2/1/02 and still have not recieved the check that was supposedly mailed on 1/9/02. There is another Rip-Off report titled, "AAA Camera EXchange Inc. Unprofessional and Rip-Off Artist Without Comparison" modified 3/26/20001.

I have written to the New York Better Business Bureau and am awaiting a response. I am also getting ready to write to the NY state Attorney General, the US Attorney General and the US Postal Inspector. This is not bad business practice this is fraud, both mail and wire fraud.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... click here to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! When there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide.
