I am writing on behalf of my daughter, who lives in Mesa, Arizona and who was driving in a parking lot when suddenly this person pulled out of a parking space when my daughter was driving by and hit my daughter's car. This occurred in Phoenix Arizona. This person is a client of AAA who admitted and signed a statement admitting her guilt. My daughter called the police who told her they would not come out. My daughter also submitted pictures of her car showing the damage and a copy of the signed statement. No one from AAA ever came out to look at her car. The AAA client later recanted her statement and AAA denied my daughter any compensation for her car repairs and she has not been able to make those repairs. The AAA Agent took much longer than she should have to get back to my daughter and eventually said the claim was denied because my daughter hit her client which is entirely a falsehood. On my request for more info. the agent asked me if I thought her client was a liar; I told her that was my belief. She then called her client who said she would agree to small claims court, however the agent refuses to tell us how to contact her client in order to follow thru. My daughter is depressed and distraught over this situation and I am very angry that an insurance company that would not investigate the facts and disregard what really did happen by their insured and try to put the onus on my daughter who was in not at fault. I can understand the agent wanting to protect her client; that does not mean to me that justice in this case should be denied because of an untruth told by the other party. I am dismayed by this kind of behavior on the part of an insurance agent and her company. Although my daughter has liability insurance, she doesn't have collision ins. on her car, and I think that the AAA agent(s) involved took advantage of my daughter when they found out she did not have collision and would not have to worry about negotiations with another insurance company. However, this is a CAR insurance company and their client made a mistake and the right thing to do would be to not lie and use their guilty client's insurance to pay my daughter's claim. I thought that was what insurance is for. i think after speaking with the agent, that this was handled in an underhanded and non transparent way.
