For the last 30+ years my grandmother was a member of AAA. She would purchase her airline tickets through them at least once a year sometimes twice to come visit my family while serving in the military.

Every year in October she would purchase her ticket to come at Christmas time. Well last November she fell and had to have a hip replacement. I was told that she had to go into a nursing center immediatley which I placed her in one near my home in Texas.

Knowing that she had already purchased her ticket through AAA, I called their office in Niles Ohio to change the ticket from Christmas time to the weekend of Thanksgiving.

AAA informed me on the phone that I would lose too much money just transferring the ticket so they suggested that I purchase a new ticket and get reinburstment for the entire amount of the first ticket with the insurance that she purchased with the ticket. And I was told that they would help me with the process once I came into the office. Now they advertise that they have experienced AAA travel counselors!

Once in the office I was handed a pamphlet with a number highlighted on it to call the insurance company. That was it no explanation, no help what so ever. But they were eager for me to purchase two new tickets. And I was told to destroy the old tickets.

Once returning home I called the insurance office of Berkley Care. They sent me the paperwork to start the claim. I had a few questions about the form so I called Berkley Care. Then I was informed that I could "not" get reinburstment for the plane ticket because of her illiness because she was able to fly.

They said that AAA should of giving me my money back from the beginning because all I was doing was changing the date on her ticket.

When I called AAA's office the girl I spoke to was rude. Every time I talked to them they are rude. You could tell that they do not like to reinburse any money.

It's been one excuse after another. Well they asked for the intinary to be sent to them. Then another phone call they asked for the passenger seating ticket. Which I have sent everything they have asked for (only after making copies of everything) So much for them telling me to destroy the old tickets. Now its been six months and still no refund and its hard to get them to return your phone calls.

This is the way an 83 year old grandmother gets treated from a company that she has done business with for over 30 years?
