Complaint Review: aamco

 AAMCO 400 c high st HckettstownNJ- Rip off - My car was stalling badly.  I couldn't drive more than 20 or 30 yards with out it stalling again and again.  I was near AAMCO in Hackettstwon NJ - and managed to get my car to their service shop.  They said I had to sign a form saying that I would pay them $55 per HALF-HOUR for their time.  I had no choice but to sign - It's not like I could drive the car any where else.  They did NOTHING to repair the problem and they were NOT able to find the cause of the problem.  They said they could not reproduce the probem but the charged me over $200.00 for their time.  When I pciked up my car it started stalling again.  A friend of mine said:  try putting a bottle of dry gas in the tank.  That solved the problem.  The car never stalled again after I put in the dry gass.  There was condensation build up in the tank and the dry gas dried it all up.  What a RIP OFF.  These guys are supposed to be experienced auto repair men.  The AAMCO boasts full automotive service - they said they Don't just work on transmissions - they do all differnt kinds of auto repairs.  Stay away from this shop -it's a rip off.
