AAMCO is a rip-off. Their warranty was put together by amature, inexperienced, idiotic, un-ethical attorneys. Boca Raton, Florida
Let me cut to the chase. I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had its tranny rebuilt the first time in October 2000. I paid extra to get the 36-month/50,000 mile limited warranty. When I got this warranty, I had some modifications done to my truck to increase its performance while towing.
These modifications included: headers, exhaust, intake, brakes, and a new tire/wheel combo(same diameters as stock). The warranty was issued acknowledging these modifications.
Moreover, The tranny took a s**t a few months after it was rebuilt. The tranny had a problem shifting gears under hard acceleration. The torque converter had a mind of its own. Driving the car seemed like I was riding a wild bull.
I had it rebuilt at another AAMCO, across the state. 6 months later, stranded on an interstate. I took the tranny back May 2, 2002 at the Boca Raton graveyard. I got it back May 18 at 12:00pm after days of lies, excuses, and communication errors.
A block down the street, I felt the same symptoms arising since when I brought the car in. I drove the car throughout the day and the transmission progressively worsened. 11:30pm the same day, the tranny did not even shift and I ended pushing my car home.I left a message on the Boca Raton graveyard's voice mail at 12:50am and somehow the message clicked over to the owner's(TROY KRANITZ) house line and I attempted to have a conversation with him.
This guy is a work of art. He said I could not floor my car. I questioned him about it and he said, the tranny is not made to handle acceleration under wide open throttle. Kidding I thought...but this idiot must have thought I'm a retard. I brought my car in because it didn't shift under hard acceleration, and he's telling me I can't floor my car. He than got angry because I explained to him how his logic lacked substance. He than said "I will void your warranty on Monday for "altering" your car."
This intellectually-challenged individual has reached the glass ceiling and my actions through the court system, District Attorney's Office and Dept of Consumer Affairs will force him to resign his position of authority and responsibility.
I plan on filing a class action suit, so anyone who has been in any type of dilemma from this Boca Raton center respond to this post ASAP!

I AM SORRY TO SAY IN THIS CASE YOU ARE DEALING WITH A PERSON THAT DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE ORIGINAL REPAIR AT THIS CENTER, IT WAS DONE IN GAINSVILLE FLORIDA THE FIRST TIME THAN DONE AGAIN AT LIGHTHOUSE POINT, POMPANO FL.
AFTER THE TRANSMISSION FAILED THREE TIMES THIS PERSON THINKS THAT THE TRUCK IS A RACE CAR , I REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AS PER CUSTOMER BOUGHT IN GAINSVILLE BEFORE ALL MODIFICATIONS WAS DONE TO THIS TRUCK/RACE CAR.
IF IT DOES NOT HOLD UP I FEEL THE SAME WAY OUR HOME OFFICE FEELS, THE TRUCK IS NOT BEING OPERATED PROPELY, I NEVER TOOK A DIME FROM THIS PERSON FOR THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR, MAAZ FAILS TO REALIZE THAT I REPAIRED A TRANSMISSION ON HIS BROTHERS THUNDERBIRD AND THAT CAR IS STILL ON THE ROAD WITH OUR TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL DONE A FEW YEARS AGO.
I AM NOT THE PERSON OR THE SHOP THAT DID THIS JOB THE FIRST TIME. I NEVER WOULD HAVE DONE A TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL ON A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT FACTORY SPECS. THE DEALER WOULD ALSO NOT WARRANTY ANYTHING THAT IS ALTERED ON A VEHICLE. I WORK ON CARS & TRUCKS AND IF THE CUSTOMER WANTS WORK DONE THAT IS NOT WITHIN FACTORY SPECS I TELL THE CUSTOMER UP FRONT IF YOU WANT ME TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE THEIR WOULD BE NO WARRANTY APPLIED OR EXPRESSED. I HOPE THE PUBLIC UNDERSTANS OUR POSITION IN THIS CASE. THANK YOU.
